With our latest additions in the portal I’m still having a hard time seeing how minutes will be given and what the starting rotation looks like. Are we still missing a starting SG, PF and C?

Would you be surprised if Chandler is the starting SG? If so, then why?

Dioubate at the 4 with Johnson/Lowe/Oweh in the backcourt could be fun. They’d be so fast.

Could easily see a 3 guard (true guards) with 2 PF line up like Houston with this team. If we get Yates or Pierre and Alvaro or player to be named.

I personally see Jasper starting next year but wouldn’t be surprised if Kam was our three.

There is another thread showing how the minutes may be divided up.
It was posted before Dioubate, but just plug him into the backup PF spot.

But if you are too lazy to look at that, it's clear Pope is fine going with Garrison as the starting C, and Moreno as the backup, although he may look for a starting PF who can play a little C. Johnson will get a chance as the SG spot, although he may play a few minutes at PG or SF depending on what 1 more SG we get, that guy could be the starter, in fact I bet he is.
But yes, probably the 2 most impactful transfers for us aren't known yet.

PG: Lowe
SG: Oweh
SF: Kam
PF: Mo
C: BG

If we do get Yates, Yates starts as SG, Oweh as SF.

Bench:
PG: Lewis/Perry
SG: Jasper/Chandler
SF: Kam/Noah
PF: Kam/Moreno
C: Moreno

Maybe still get Folgueiras.
It sounds like we want Jayden Quaintance too.

Right now, if we don’t add anyone else:

PG Lowe/Lewis/Perry
SG Johnson/Chandler
SF Oweh/Williams
PF Dioubate/Noah
C Garrison/Moreno

But we will add at least one more player.

Right now, I think it will be:
Lowe at PG
Oweh at SG
Kam at SF
Mo D at PF
Garrison at C

Lewis at PG back up
JJ at 2 guard back up
Chandler at sf backup
Noah at 4 as backup
Moreno a C as back up.
I think Kam is off the bench and one of the freshmen start at guard

PG Lowe/Lewis/Perry
SG Johnson/Chandler
SF Oweh/Williams/Noah
PF Garrison/Dioubate
C Quaintance/Moreno

Now we wait and see who we add on the wing to get to 13. Don’t see Pope going passed 13, unless there’s a developmental player he wants.
That could be the lineup eventually. I highly doubt JQ starts the season. The wing position is taken care of with Dioubate and Kam. We need a high caliber shooting guard to round this roster out.

Garrison is not a PF in any universe....I highly doubt he sticks at UK

PG Lowe/Lewis/Perry
SG: Portal guy or Oweh with Jasper/Chandler depth
SF: Oweh/Kam Williams/CHandler/Noah
PF: Dioubate/maybe a portal sniper like Almonsor for depth....maybe a bulked up Naoh morphs to stretch PF
C: Quaintenance/Moreno....I think Gwath flirtation and taking Quaintance tells me not sold on Garrison (and I think that is right move)

I could see that happening, but Pope has said he wants Garrison back and wants him shooting more 3’s. That leads me to believe that he could move to the 4. He has played that spot before.

As it stands, Garrison moves to the 4, if Quaintance is healthy.

If Pope signs another PF, then the writing is on the wall for Garrison. That will tell you Garrison is likely out.

Right now I'm starting Lowe, Oweh, Johnson, JQ, Doubate (Maybe Chandler for Johnson)

The interesting thing will be rotation wise I assume only 2/3 of Lewis, Perry, Williams, Noah, Moreno will be in the rotation. 2 of those 5 will not be seeing many minutes. I think Perry is a safe bet for 1 but not sure who the other 1-2 will be.

He will play 10
U don't bring people in from #3 SF in portal not to play him. People are overlooking Kam much like oweh last year

I can see a few scenarios.

Shooting/Scoring with crazy wings. I could see this team playing fast and focusing on motion, cuts and pick and roll.

PG: Lowe
SG: Oweh
SG: Jasper (If Jasper is as good as he's made out to be, he may start)
SF/PF: Doubonte
C: Qauntiance (If healthy) / Garrison

More Traditional Line Up:

PG: Lowe
SG: Oweh
SF: Williams
PF: Doubonte
C: Qauntiance (If healthy) / Garrison

Controversial Line Up:

PG: Lowe
SG: Oweh
SF: Chandler
PF: Williams
C: Qauntiance (If healthy) / Garrison

Right now, I think it will be:
Lowe at PG
Oweh at SG
Kam at SF
Mo D at PF
Garrison at C

Lewis at PG back up
JJ at 2 guard back up
Chandler at sf backup
Noah at 4 as backup
Moreno a C as back up.

I think what this guy said is the most realistic one.

I think Quantiance starts over Garrison if he's healthy.

Ok but still Lowe, Oweh, Johnson, Williams, Diobate, JQ, Garrison, Chandler is 8 already.

Which leaves Lewis, Perry, Noah, Moreno as 2/4 in the rotation or 1/4 if we add another scoring piece like Pierre or Yates.

I've got:

Lowe/Lewis/Perry
Johnson/Chandler
Oweh/Williams/Noah
Dioubate/Quaintance
Garrison/Moreno

Obviously there's a lot of versatility, and JQ's injury question mark. But with that lineup above, our second 5 is still a top 15ish team.

The offense will absolutely look different next year. Of our bigs, probably only Moreno can play the Amari role. We don't quite have the shooters we had this past season. But are now stacked with athleticism. I could see this team being much much more aggressive on defense and in transition. Honestly, they're kind of built to play like the Pitino teams of the 90s.

I think JQ won’t be available until Jan. and will be eased into the rotation. By mid Feb I can see him starting. So up thru Feb it will be Garrison and Mareno at the 5.
