Lipscomb is currently 2-2 having defeated Dusquesne and Wofford but losing by 16 to Arkansas and by 1 to cross town rival Belmont. I have interest in this game as I was heavily recruited by Lipscomb for track/xc and my youngest ran and graduated from there. I think we will see more of the bench during the game but Lipscomb has a rich history in basketball NAIA and done well since moving up to D1 so the team does not need to be complacent. Our team doesn't seem to be the type to take them too lightly. I'm ready for some more basketball.

I’m curious about this one as well.

I am expecting a post Duke hangover with a sloppy, flat first half. But, that could be some Calipari PTSD.

If we come out and handle business from the jump, it will give me great confidence that I won’t need to get nervous over cupcake games like I’d grown accustomed to under late-stage Cal.

yup that’s what I’m most curious about is the hangover after a big time W…I’m trusting Pope will have them hungry and ready.

I have to imagine that Pope is making sure that win doesn’t go to their head to the point where they overlook anyone. And these guys are tough. I fully expect them to handle business this year. I don’t expect them to win every game but I expect them to play to win every game

I don't expect as much of a hangover since we have a full week to recover. if we were playing tomorrow night, I might expect that.

This is a reprehensible post. What did this school or players ever do to you. This is a well respected, Christian University. I usually just ignore your asinine posts but this is out of line beyond the pale.

They may come out a LITTLE flat, but with such depth, all 9/10 guys will not play that way. The biggest thing I will be watching for is Jaxson Robinson to have a bounce back game. This kid really struggled all game v/s Duke. I expect him to come out and prove that was a fluke game. If I know his makeup like I think I do, he will. When you have a bench with 4/5 guys who could start, it is hard for all 9/10 guys to play flat. Noah and Travis will definitely be fired up and ready to go. It will be another chance for them to prove they can play, same for Chandler. It expect good games from all three, obviously the studs will come out and ball, but i will be watching these 3 and Robinson.

Wait wait....Kentucky and Mark Pope get to play a team that Arkansas just played a couple weeks ago?
They struggled in that game some. Only won by 16. They were favored by alot more.

Should be a good comparison between us and them versus the same competition..

Pope vs Cowlupeari.
Part One

Lipscomb.

Result:
Ark 76 Lips 60

Ky 00 Lips 00.

Prediction 84-51

To be continued.....!

Lessons I’ve learned from this thread:

Don’t get lippy about Lipscomb

Former runners/XC who were recruited heavily and have children as alumni are loyal to Lipscomb

Dave Kersey just made me nervous about this game by causing me to envision a dorky, white scorer from Wisconsin going off on us. Is this 2015 flashbacks?

Agreed. It is just HH having fun. Personally....I have enjoyed HH's posts more than ever this week. He was bullish on the Cats v Duke (He is on every aspect always) and he is spiking the football constantly since the win. I like it.
You can always count on HH to be positive and you have to admire his faith in the Cats.

If you say Lipscomb in your head in Eric Cartmans voice, it’s actually really gross

Jacob Ognacevik, 6'8 forward. All time Wisconsin High School scoring leader. Averaging 23.5 points per game and seven rebounds this year. He is one to pay attention to and I'm sure coach already knows it
Will Pruitt is a 5 year player and former Mr Tn basketball. He can play. I worked At Lipscomb for 36 years and graduated from there in 76. Lenny Acuff is a great coach. We should win on mere size and talent but don’t be surprised if Lipscomb hangs around. They are coming off a heart breaking loss to Belmont. Belmont hit 8 straight shots in the closing 4 minutes to erase an 11 pt lead.

Yup, this guy broke Sam Dekker's Wisconsin high school scoring record
