Anywhere in the Florence area and you will be fine. Much further north and the stench from Cincy is nauseating.
Well it's not wrong.I'm from Northern Ky" .. like its better than eastern , western or southern Ky .
Worse than lying and saying " I'm from Cincy" is one that irks me , gets under my skin " I'm from Northern Ky" .. like its better than eastern , western or southern Ky .
Anything is better than Eastern Kentucky.
Well it's not wrong.
Every state has ****** areas .. I'm from eastern Ky .. wouldnt trade it for anything. Better than east Columbus , Better than Chicago , better than 100's of places IMO.
True , but have you ever heard a single person say " I'm from Southern Ky " I'm from Western Ky " not so much , but nearly everyone who lives in Boone , Campbell or Kenton counties say " Northern Ky

The brass *** is where it’s at in slewport. You walk in there and step back into 1965Anything east of Monmouth in Newport>>>>>>>Covington
Let me ask you this- do you think a normal person from outside N Ky would know where Latonia is? How about Park Hills? Wilder? Silver Grove? Independence?
There are about 25 different cities all mashed up in an area about the size of Fayette Co. So knowing the follow up question is “where’s that?” It’s just easier to say Northern Kentucky.

This - from someone born there & lives 3 miles away in Northern Ky. Will be interesting to see what they do with all the old IRS property near the river. Braxton Brewery throwing a beer & music block party on 7th street this weekend. How bad could it be?Covington has been improving little by little and they have a very solid cultural scene between the restaurants, music venues and night life.
Definitely some trashy parts but not even close to the level of trash in Cincy.
Kenton Vale is great. :joy: :flush:Kind of run down and ******. Same up thru Kenton Vale
This too. I'd move to a historic area apartment in a heartbeat. But I'm only one vote.Love MainStrasse Village, especially Dee Felice Cafe. And their Oktoberfest street party in MainStrasse is second to none.
There are a handful of must-see points of interest. Homes on the riverfront, many dating back in mid 1800s and still well-maintained. The Cathedral Basilica at 12th and Madison. The Roebling bridge and murals. The overlook at Devou Park.
Its bc every mile you're in a new town...I have no f'n clue where I am every time I go up there...just make one giant county and name it one city..then be done with itWorse than lying and saying " I'm from Cincy" is one that irks me , gets under my skin " I'm from Northern Ky" .. like its better than eastern , western or southern Ky .
If In in California or Arizona, “Northern Kentucky” won’t cut it. No one out there can tell Ky and TN apart.Let me ask you this- do you think a normal person from outside N Ky would know where Latonia is? How about Park Hills? Wilder? Silver Grove? Independence?

In general, Ky has about 50-60 too many counties. Its bc every mile you're in a new town...I have no f'n clue where I am every time I go up there...just make one giant county and name it one city..then be done with it
In Europe if they ask where I'm from, I ask if they know where CIncinnati is & 9/10 say no. Then I ask about Chicago & Atlanta & normally get yes or a vague yes. I say draw a line between the two & we're a bit closer to Chicago.“Cincinnati” will suffice. If I’m overseas..hell I reference “near Chicago”.

Well, if you live in Northern Kentucky and say you are from Northern Ky, that's exactly what the person is looking for, where you live. Thus the question being asked. And, I'm guessing, almost 100% of the time, answering that way is NOT trying to say anything demeaning, or about being better than, Eastern, Western or Southern Ky. Seems like something really weird to get irked at.
Does parking still suck? When I hang with friends we've been staying away and trying the Braxton area near Madison lately instead.I've lived in the Mainstrasse area for 2 years or so, great food and bars all within walking distance.
