Nothing more hilarious than seeing Facebook and rupp rafters UK forum board lose their minds on each other. When they win, cal has done an amazing job and boy oh boy are their freshmen stepping up...after the LSU blowout fans here were saying "calipari needs to go", "we won't make the tournament", "who needs to leave the team to make room for next year". Etc etc. Beautiful sight. Man what I'd give for a rematch with Ingram and kennard actually playing now.

The first thing that I did after the game ended was to go read the game thread at Rupp Rafters. I only read the last 2 pages of the thread and I couldn't stop laughing.
Oh man I was in tears laughing at the stuff they were saying, I get so much **** here for being a duke fan but the minute UK loses its like a civil war between the inbreds here. I miss living in North Carolina so much sometimes. I do respect calipari for the stuff he does locally, he definitely is a good guy outside of his shady basketball tactics, he always helps the homeless here in my town and is always donating tons of money, going to shelters with the team and cooking for people....but when it comes to basketball there's only one team I dislike more than them. The other blue.
Kentucky is a brand new team this year, the bad thing about reloading freshman every year is that some years talent isn't as good as others, and this year's group of freshman across the board is a weak class compared to last year's and the upcoming years. It's still nice to see UK lose though.
Yea. Kentucky fans are like Alabama football fans. My day becomes instantly better when Kentucky and UNC lose! I'm enjoying the Kentucky loss today and hoping my team can win tonight!

Yeah, I have a few friends who say "every fan base has those fans" which is true to an extent - but NO fan base that I have seen in CBB except maybe 2 or 3 teams, is as disgusting / unrealistic as UK.
I agree....I just moved back to the Charlotte area after living 9 years in Kentucky and you're right. It's 40-0 every year for a lot of fans. I did however find a few that would have outwardly realistic expectations for their team going into the season...but deep down inside they were thinking 40-0.
I watched the game last night. If anything, UK has regressed in the last month or so. There's still a lot of talent there, but last year they had guys who wanted the ball and could make something happen. They're missing that this season.

I thought Paducah was underwater? No? Have a friend there so I was checking the flooding from afar. Although now it's flooding here in GA. Have to take my bass boat to the house. Might do a little fishing from my deck, instead of hog hunting.

I actually couldn't get accross the Ohio River, so had to take a 2 hour detour up I24 through the southern tip of Illinois. Unexpected road time sucks.
As a UK fan, I pretty much agree with all of you. It's kind of embarrassing. I swear most of us really are normal people; it just seems like the idiots are the most vocal. What you said is quite true though. We've grown accustomed to reloading with freshmen every year, but this is just a down year for freshmen, other than Simmons and we're gonna have growing pains. Hopefully they can get it by March and make a run a la 2011 & 2014.

It is sooooo refreshing reading all of these posts to know I'm not alone in just how mind blowing it can be at times living in the state of Kentucky during basketball season. I've long said I don't mind the uk program as much as I do their fans. The general lack of common sense and good sportsmanship in their base in mind blowing. Lol and sadly yet also comically it's getting that way for football now also.
. Lol! U aren't kidding! Being born in Kentucky and currently living in Kentucky, it's amazing the amount of comical stuff I have heard my whole life. I could write a comedy book about it. Just makes me an even more hardened Duke fan, which is amazing to say because I'm already pretty intense when it comes to my Blue Devils!!
