I don't remember anyone else posting this, but a couple months ago Lloyd Yates was selected by the St. Louis Business Journal as one of the top 25 innovators under the age of 25. Yates is an MBA student at Washington University, and he started a business selling ties to his NU teammates and classmates (apparently his father cleared out his closet and gave Lloyd a bunch of ties). The business has now expanded into a technology startup that helps retailers reduce product returns. NU got a good mention in the story.

Why wasn’t this included in @lou v ‘s article about out our quarterbacks?

I guess you could call this an 'old school tie'

This post needs a photo.

Because my story was about football, not a “where are they now” feature.

Though you have to admit such a feature would be interesting. One just beat Tom Brady. Another coaches Patrick Mahomes. A third is a tie executive.

This reminds me of a story from 1985 (that may just be apocryphal), that the Reds gave away ties when Pete Rose matched Ty Cobb's hits record. It was called the "Tie Ty Tie Night."

I strongly preferred the hoopla around his permanent suspension when they brought in a group of 1919 White Sox reenactors and some musicians for the “Banned Band Band” night.

I don't know if you made that up or not, but I absolutely love it and support it.
