If I was a coach of the winning team, I'd move my players to unfamiliar positions and not allow base stealing. That's just me.

I know it's kids but I get so tired of Sportsmanship talk. Help people up when they fall is a good show of sportsmanship. As a coach, I'd never tell my team to stop playing hard. You can sub here and there to get reserves playing time but you better believe I'm going to tell them to go all out and play their best. If we score every play, that's not on me. That's on the other team for not being able to stop my team. It's an injustice to the kids who work their *** off in practice each week to have them go in and run skeleton plays.

I think there was a 10 run mercy rule after the fourth. The losing team still had another at bat to fill out the 6th. Simply being up 10 wouldn't provide any cushion to end the game at the end of the inning. Pitch counts are real. Ending a game early saves that kid for another day.

If I'm wrong, correct me.

I can't find another story complaining about this game. Even the stories from the Illinois papers just matter of factly state the score with no commentary. The yahoo story doesn't quote anybody involved with the actual game, just people commenting about the game.

Yep plus the run rule can save your pitchers. Weak sauce being offended.

This:

"This is the little league world series. For most of them they will never play in anything bigger. For a simple regular season game sure. You take the gas off. I do all the time. For the LLWS you play hard until the game is over. Save your pitching and don't be THAT team that lost a 13 run lead," one parent said in defense of the steal.

Didn't you give some really odd reason you wouldn't do venmo or cashapp?
no, it wasn't discussed. I have never done venmo but I would be glad to.My winnings will go to a charity anyway. I have several in mind, you could send the money directly to them!

The run rule changes things. They are trying to end the game and save pitching. Otherwise, it’s a lame move. It’s an unwritten rule of baseball and if it happens at a higher level, there are hitters getting thrown at.
I don’t have a problem with it here because of the circumstances.

Ego's from coaches who usually don't have a clue about baseball in general. You see it often in all stars, travel ball, etc. and it carries over to the kids. If you're up that big and you keep getting hits, that's one thing, but stealing....that calls for a pitch in the ear.

Heck yeah, that's better sportsmanship! Stick one in the ear of a 13 year old there coach!
