There are a few sporting events I do look forward to each year. Openingredients day of MLB and the WS. The Masters, The Kentucky Derby/Triple Crown only if the winner of the derby wins The Preakness and has a shot at The Triple Crown although I'm not a horse racing fan. High school football , College football , The Super Bowl of course and my favorite the 1st game of the season for Duke basketball and on to March Madness. I do look forward every year to the Little League WS. It's that time on year. The U.S. had the elimination rounds last week as did the international teams and the field is set in Williamsport. I haven't a favorite yet but for sure it's one of our U.S. teams. HawaiI won it last year with one of my favorite teams ever. They are back with a different team this year. I love these kids because for the simple reason they play for the love of the game. Most of these kids still have that innocent quality in them and before you realize it they will be one of us adults and will leave behind those wonder years that we all once had. For those of you who enjoy the LLWS please help me keep this thread alive. It only last a couple of weeks and the it's goal be another year before we can enjoy this pure sport. OFC

I love this event. A few of the boys I coach played for Chantilly this season who lost before reaching states. They were a favorite to reach the Southeast regional final, but the beauty of sports at this age is that anyone can win any game. The team that beat them lost to them in the district tournament 15-1. It’s a crazy game and I love how well the kids play. I also coached against a couple of the Loudoun kids who are representing the Southeast region. They are definitely good, competitive kids. I have a rooting interest there.

The other part is that if they don’t get a lot of other things right at times, ESPN does an incredible job of producing this tournament for TV. I do miss Brent Musberger on the ABC calls, even if he was a bit too toasted to remember any of the kids’ names.

The U.S.A. won. Kids from Louisiana won it after losing its first game. Great hitting team. Their SS set a LLWS record with 19 hits. Way to go kids. OFC

Congrats to the Louisiana team I think they lost their first game of the tourney to Hawaii and win like 6 games or something in 7 days to come back and win it all becoming first team to do so since they expanded the field back in 2001 I think

They beat an awesome team in Curacao. That Curley kid was sick.

He was for sure. How about the SS and 3rd baseman for the USA? Could they stroke it or not. That SS had a major league swing. A lot of talented kids out there for the entire LLWS. Looking forward to next year. OFC
