They are 19th in the country. Crazier talk has happened. Maybe the cats can knock em out of it, if it was something that was in play in late November

Well it only makes sense that they start making their travel plans. Booking hotels and whatnot. They are going to win all their games. Probably by a minimum of 3 TDs each.

I'm not sure making a prediction on the internet equals reservations or anything like that

Florida St. and Clemson may have something to say about UL making the playdowns.

All they have is Lamar Jackson and he can't carry them to the playoffs.

They have a team with a lot of potential. Lamar is a key cog, but he is clearly not all they have. Their WRs are outstanding. Samples is truly a stud who will get a look in the League. Quick has an inconsistent history, but can be a top flight WR. Samuels is the guy that is about to breakout and make a name. And, their other young guys are really good. In fact, our staff wanted Seth Dawkins badly, because that kid has the whole package.

Their RBs are solid. They will be better this year with Jackson under center more. If their OLine can open holes, Radcliff will return to his soph statistical form. And they have a stud TE, or two.

The LBers and DLine are really good, too. Fields is projected as a first day, if not first round, pick. Kelsey and Harvey-Clemons probably get drafted. Replacing Rankins is the main question there and his replacement is a guy we would love to have.

UL is a team with a ton of potential and is a sleeper for the ACC title. So, if we were in their position, people here would be talking the same way.

I question how healthy Lamar Jackson will stay throughout the season as a full time starter. The way he plays, he's going to take a beating. There will surely be stretches where he has to sit or miss a start over some nagging injury.

That 2006 Rutgers team was ranked 12th, at their place, but it's true we should not have lost that one. The Cards are going to be very good this year, and have a lot more than Lamar Jackson, but it is a big stretch to think they will make the playoff. Fans be fans. There is a lot of that going on right now....

They don't have the games on the schedule, nor the personnel. Louisville has a good football team, for as much as I hate them, saying otherwise would be silly.
That said, Clemson and Florida State have great football teams, and they have outstanding OOC games as well. It's incredibly safe to say that Louisville will lose to at least one of Florida State and Clemson, and very likely will drop both of those games. ANY ACC team that drops 2 games will be out of it, no ifs, ands, or buts about it.
Also, Lamar Jackson isn't a Heisman caliber player. Doesn't have the accuracy, and frankly, is a long way from having it too. Also comes off as far too eager to run it. He scrambles to run the football, whereas a player like Deshaun Watson scrambles to pass, buy time, or create opportunities for his teammates before he decides to run with the ball. Nevermind the accuracy difference.
They have a long, long way to go before even being in the discussion for the CFB Playoffs.

About as doable as UL making the playoff. So, this board is not immune to ridiculous talk as well.
If Louisville wants a snowball chance in hell to get into the Playoffs. They'll have to beat both Clemson and FSU. I don't see them winning either game.

Jesus...

it's like people have never seen a good qb who can scramble before...fans, media, talking heads, etc...Lamar Jackson...yeah, he'll be legit...even though they are in the ACC, they don't have a cake walk...

obviously...clemson and FSU...

Houston has one of the most talented QBs and HCs in the country...they will score a lot...

...and obviously the rivalry game to end the season...one could argue we had the more talented roster over all last year but it was young, inexperienced, and by the end of the season was going through some turmoil...

...add in a surprise which inevitably happens...UL is looking at 3-5 losses...

they'll be a good bowl team...they are not a play off team...

Strength is in their defense. I am a UK fan. Proud that I am not jealous of UL. Even if I want them to lose every game they play. Credit where credit is due.
The person who started this thread is a strange individual. All he posts about is UofL and calling people for being a troll. Check his posts history.

He is a tough kid. I doubt he runs as much as last year and I suspect we see him go out of bounds and slide much more. For his sake

A good honest assessment made from knowledge rather than blind fan hate.

8 wins is certainly doable if this team plays to its capabilities. I only see two games on the schedule we have pretty much zero chance of winning. And if the qb play is subpar I can also see another disappointing season with 4 or 5 wins being likely.

I said 7-5 last year
Steelers said 12-0 lol

They went 8-4. Wonder why he wouldn't bet.
Actually they went 8-5 lol. Looking at their schedule they have two tough conference games and the rest is a cakewalk. Anything worse than 9-3 and it's a big disappointment and Petrino should start catching some heat.

DeVonte Fields and Lamar Jackson are studs. Pros. They have a bunch of dudes who will get drafted on defense.

I pray they lose a couple, but they will be prepared as they have an elite (albeit scummy) coach.
