I agree. It's the only thing can even stand gin in anymore. Got sick on gin and tonic on my senior trip in HS. Can't even stand the smell anymore except in and LI Tea.
Brings back memories . Had four LI doubles at a bar along with two Xanax when I was young . Fell out of my chair multiple times , sitting still and timber ! Hit the dance floor (so I was told) threw liquor on and cussed people out . Got carried out by bouncers , threw up on main street laying half in half out of the car . Threw punch that missed passenger in car on way home , they carried me in . Parents found me passed out in bathroom floor . Looking back on it , I think the Xanax was the tipping point .

I like Long Island Iced Tea but I make it a little different than the traditional method. I take four ounces of fine bourbon and mix it with a two inch ice sphere in a rocks glass. If I'm feeling old fashioned I'll mix in a little simple sugar and some Angostura bitters.

When I would come back home for the summers from UK, Wicks in the Highlands used to have $2 LIT's one or two nights a week. Sitting down and having 3 and then getting up, you tend to stumble those first two steps. Would always start the night off right.
Took my best friend to Chicago for his BP. Two in the airport here before we took off and carried on once we arrived. That night, I was doing snow angels at Rush and Division and got up in the middle of the night and sat at the end of the bed and projectile on the floor and went back to bed. Classy night.

Reddit had a post (an AMA) where a professional bartender answered questions. Someone asked what he thought of different drinks and his answer for LIIT was great. He said that when someone orders one, what they're really saying is "get me f'ed up as soon as possible". He said all the subtle nuances of each liquor don't matter because there is so much booze in them. Everywhere he had worked made them with the cheapest bulk booze they had and the customers couldn't tell.

I got so drunk in Mexico one time I had to hold onto the table like I was in one of those spinning teacup rides. I felt like if I let go I would be flung into the sky. LIIT was the culprit. The bartender made the mistake of telling us nobody had ever drank more than 5. I made it to 6... that was in 1984 before everything became PC and you weren't supposed to get stone blind drunk.
I went to a zz top concert at Rupp and left after two songs , hands and knees crawled up Rupp stairs to Hyatt room . Ordered pizza and passed out . Started too early with a multi combo of liquor and pills , beer , vodka , whiskey and Valium . One guy in our group passed out before concert and never left the room hahaha .
I don't drink anymore but when I did it was heavy , with the whole purpose of getting irreparably drunk . So that's not popular these days , I can't imagine .
The Brass *** Saloon (been closed years), used to sell LIT pitchers. Hard to believe now, because places are so scared about over-serving. We used to just order a pitcher and stick a GD straw in it. That place would get pretty rowdy, so they would hire former UK football players as bouncers. Turns out they were selling cocaine there in addition to LIT pitchers. Probably why it closed
