This show sucks right? How in the hell does it have 6 seasons? I have a heart for westerns but this is a mess.

I got a few episodes into the first season, but didn't really find any reason to stay with it. Maybe it turns the corner somewhere?

The fans of the books are legion and they are loyal.

That's all I got.

I thought it was decent but that's because I love the setting. If you are only interested in the characters it's probably less rewarding.

Never read the books but I enjoy the show very much, I just started it during the summer, and am on season 5 right now. There are times it gets sluggish but other times it gets really good.

It's good for what it is, IMO. Of course, I've read 5 of the books and love them. The show isn't as good as the books, but manages to capture a lot of the spirit of the characters and setting. Robert Taylor does a good job of portraying Walt Longmire IMO.

Does he ever get a cell phone in the books? lol

I enjoyed the show a lot.

I LOVE the books though. The show essentially uses the names and location, but the characters aren't close to who they are in the books. I had to reconcile that I was in reality watching something pretty much entirely different.

Henry and Vic are so much better (and different) in the books. Henry is 6'6" bad *** and Vic is well ... something else ... totally not the timid thing portrayed on the show. Walt isn't so much of a sullen curmudgeon either.

Read the books ...
