-mostly because 2021 is a lost season- are there any potential bright spots on the horizon?
Of course... there is always hope. WVU will return, assuming no transfers (a big one I know), most of their starting lineups next year. Another year of experience, another year of training, another year of maturation. Things really (hopefully) can only get better, right? Right?
There have to be some fundamental changes that occur first. There needs to be a new focus on leadership - from the coaches to the upperclassmen - as well as some accountability from both. There has to be some game-changing moves roster wise. If that means bringing in new blood across certain units or rooms then so be it. Some true competition will be much appreciated so hit the transfer market hard and early. Try to get as many game-changers here as possible; send the dead weight packing - from players to staff (especially the strength staff - if these players aren't both demonstrably stronger and tougher send them to the train station). Nobody is safe. Get some meanness back - apathy just left on the transfer portal.
I understand how people feel. Recency bias has folks feeling about as low regarding the program as has been seen in years. But there are some good things to hold on to and build around. A couple of breaks here and there and we're sitting at 5-1 thinking last week was just an anomaly. Folks would be putting their head in the sand and ignoring all the problems if that was the case. All hope isn't lost.
Bill Stewart never had an 11-2 season, 9 wins the most he achieved in any year.In 42 years WVU has won 9, 10 or 11 games in 14 seasons. That’s once every 3 seasons. Neal Brown is in his 3rd season. See 9, 10 or 11 wins in the future with Neal Brown?

Lame.WELL, I'M A SILVER LINING GUY AND YOU FOUND IT. SURE HOPE YOU'RE RIGHT. BUT WVU FANS ARE USED TO 9 OR MORE WINS EVERY 3 SEASONS, AS THE RECORD I POSTED ABOVE SHOWS. SO IT CAN BE DONE AND HAS BEEN DONE. WILL NEAL BROWN DO IT? NO ONE, INCLUDING ME, KNOWS. BUT WE ALL HOPE SO. BUT A TRUST THE CLIMB SLOGAN ISN'T GOING TO DO IT. NO MORE WACO GAMES WILL GO A LONG WAY TO ENDING OUR MOURNING.
Don't go betting the house on it. Transfers happen even if you win. See Holgorsen. Rest of coaches you can't really compare as transfers weren't as open then as it is now.We will see how many transfers and decomitts we end up with and go from there. Sadly there is a chance Doege is our QB again.
He also wasn't head coach in 2007.Bill Stewart never had an 11-2 season, 9 wins the most he achieved in any year.
