We will have to play on Friday and Sunday as we are a host site and Lexington site plays on Thursday/Saturday .

This eliminates a lot of places we can start. Looking like Cleveland or Seattle as Raleigh is a slim shot due to Duke and TN.

I don't understand that reasoning. Other sites besides Lexington play on Thursday/Saturday. They could easily ship us to Denver, Wichita, or Providence.

Apparently it's not an official rule, but a courtesy kind of thing. So we could still end up anywhere.

If you’re in the Lexington area, do yourself a favor and go check out some games. Really fun experience to get to watch the tournament live.

I think that's why the NCAA doesn't do the sites the same day a host team plays if they can help it.

I've never heard of that. I'm not saying it isn't a thing but KSR is known for being wrong more than being right. I went back to look in 2012, when Louisville hosted, and they played on the same day as UK. So that's at least once that rule didn't apply.

Yeah, they corrected and said it's not an "offiicial" rule. Sounds like it's more of a courtesy thing if possible.

I don't believe that's a rule. I've never factored that when I do my mock brackets. We just can't play in Lexington obviously lol.
