again we one up UL, they had to have their head coach's troubled son coach their wide receivers for them since apparently Lamar Thomas can't...we are getting a former Big 12 wide receiver coach to do the job for Lamar at our school

(if you buy in to their moronic & borderline racist accusations that all Thomas can do is recruit....reckless thing for white UL journalist to throw at a black coach, FWIW)

Ha! It's funny because all of these things are applicable to little Nicky P.

Buuuut at least our guy has been a WR coach before, well, Thomas and Mangino have been :pimp:

Also has ties to Kansas JUCOs and while he won't actually recruit he's at least familiar with those programs.

Apparently, previous employers and co-workers rave about Mangino's ability to prep and coach up wide receivers. Even if Lamar does nothing but recruit, I'm cool with that... Although I'm sure a coach with his playing resume has more than one or two tricks to give our pass catchers.

I think next season's wide receiver become the strength of the offense we expected last season. In short order, no less.

Sounds like he could teach them to be tough and fight for the ball like it really belonged to them.

My understanding is that he can text, call, and email recruits. I also believe he can entertain recruits once on campus. In home visits and talking to mom and dad aren't nearly as important in recruiting a JUCO as it is with a high school kid. Tommy can lay the ground work with these guys and then if needed, Stoops or Morrow can fly up and seal the deal in person. I can see that working real well for a lot of JUCO's.

That's good because moving forward UK will need JUCO help especially in the DL. I look for them to really hit JUCOs hard for DLinemen in the '17 class.

Just a coincidence that he is also a WR coach? Is there a desire to clamp down and get these guys playing to potential?

Gonna add a few more too. ST and another area. Bama has about a 1:1 ratio between players and QC Coordinators...
I don't know squat about QC Coordinators but whatever Alabama is doing..... Do some of that here.... :)
Doing the SOS won't cut it if UK is to ever begin to get the train moving.... He's recruited well enough... Even an X&O, clueless guy, like me, can see better talent is out there... They just need to show signs that were at the hump... Over the hump???? I don't wanna be greedy.

All we have to do now is mix the right ingredients of bright quality coaches with high quality players and teach them to win. The players need to believe they can win and win in the SEC. This is big boy football and this is our best chance to line up and play SEC football. Really.

My understanding from talking to staff yesterday is that we will get a few more QC coaches in addition to Mangino. Allows more hands on deck plus we can ID young coaches early and develop them for the future.
