There are a lot of bad drivers in this city.

9/10 times I see someone doing something stupid or inconsiderate they have something very obvious in common that I'll keep to myself.

There are definitely some bad drives over here. But the majority of bad drivers you see in Louisville are from southern Indiana. 9 times out of 10 if you see a bad driver in this city, their tags say Indiana.

There's a reason my insurance rates doubled when I moved here from SC last year. And by the way, it's not Indiana drivers...rates drop precipitously if you live in Southern Indiana. Drivers in Louisville are horrendous.

I live in Louisville and if youre not alert when youre driving ish gets real. Almost on a daily basis someone cuts me off, turns into oncoming traffic, or drives in a turning lane. I work about 15 minutes from my house and I'd say I avoid accidents (knock on wood) 2-3x a week just because I'm very aware on the road.

Drivers suck complete *** in general regardless of location. Inherent ineptitude, reveries/concerns of the day, technological distractions, etc. Giving some too much credit maybe. But holy crap.

False.
Seattle holds that distinction. Driving is the last thing folk here are focused on when they're driving and each individual person is the single most important person in the universe.

Prolly not his/her fault. We don't stop for yellow or freshly turned red lights in Louisville. They were prolly behind an out of towner who didn't know the rules.
I have never witnessed a bad driver. Mostly because I am looking at my phone when I drive.

Regardless of where you drive, you need to learn local customs. If not, you will be the idiot everyone is wondering about.

People no longer use turn signals, yield to folks turning right, or give the "thank you" wave when you let someone in traffic.
That is so true. As someone who was taught to wave and turn my blinkers on, do I continue doing that or am I behind the times? Will the law ever be enforced, as far as blinkers go?

I've always had issues with the citizens from the state of Ohio. Some of the worst drivers out there lol

I'm really disappointed that your post hasn't received at least one million likes at this point.

Lane discipline, among many driving concepts, is completely foreign to Ohio drivers.

The one that kills me is when 15 people whiz by you when you`re trying to get over . Finally someone has enough courtesy to let you in. The others won`t even look at you. I don`t like the society we`ve become.

Thought it was Ohio til I moved to California. Not only do they hand out licenses out here to just anybody but if you crack your window at an intersection you'll get a helluva contact buzz from the car beside you.

If you live in Lexington as I do, you have no room to talk. This city has overpopulated itself in 2017 and still has a road infrastructure of 1973. We must run red lights and drive with a stupor of stupidity to ever get anywhere. City traffic engineers in Lexington must have graduated in animal husbandry.

Ha, id like to see you say that to Jim Gray's face on his monthly traffic show with jack Patty. He would embarrass you real quick.

So you think you getting over and slowing down 15 others and the flow of traffic is the thing to do because it's nice? Why don't you be patient and wait instead of wanting someone else to, which will then back up all cars behind them as well as you get over and accelerate to their speed, or worse never make it up to the speed they were all traveling at?

I drive 40k miles a year in this state, most all of it in and around the Lou-Lex-NKY triangle and Louisville by far has the best traffic flow. Lexington drivers are awful and so is Lexington traffic flow. Small towners that drive like its Sunday all day every day, not aware that others may have places to be and short amount of time to get there.

NKY drivers are terrible, too, a lot of small towners mixed in with the inconsiderate and oblivious Ohioans to the north. Both NKY and Lexington stoplight timing is insulting to the taxpayers of this state. They are designed to slow traffic not move it. Embarrassment.

A general lack of courtesy and not thinking about fellow drivers abounds whenever and wherever driving occurs. Where it not so, folks would not be texting, applying makeup, etc. IMO.

I live in Louisville. If you drive a Prius, guarantee I'm cutting your *** off at the worst possible moment for you. If your said Prius has a Hilary, Bernie or Obama sticker, beware. #blacktahoe

I don't know what it is about them but you are right, they are awful, and everywhere. There's this lady in my neighborhood with one, don't know her, but she is a major c-word.

Go over the bridge to southern Indiana if you want to see bad drivers. It's like crossing over to Toontown in Roger Rabbit.

Spent a week in Cal last summer. Wasn't looking forward to driving due to the horror stories I'd heard. Ironically, I found them to be among the most courteous drivers I've been around. Crossing six lanes to make the next exit???No problem. They were great.

I drive a pickup truck so I can see in a lot of people's cars. Too many folks driving around with left hand on wheel, right hand and 2 eyes on the phone.

Especially true of people that have questionable driving ability to begin with:
1...females
2.. anyone under 25

I live in louisville too, and every day you see someone rear ended at a red light.
DO NOT TEXT AND DRIVE...
texting is like 6 x more dangerous than drinking. So if I put my phone down turn it off and sip a beer on the way home I am like 5x more safe than the majority of the population ..l..

I used to think this way. But I now see a TON of males driving trucks (work and personal) while on their cells, it's gotten almost as bad as women driving mini-vans. Its like everybody's cruising around in a mobile living room nowadays.

I don't remember the name of the comedian I'm stealing this from, but he said "Driving drunk is much safer than texting. When you're driving drunk you are at least looking at the road. When you're texting NOBODY is looking at the road!"

I live in Louisville and have driven in New York, Atlanta, and LA. New Yorkers are the worst. Atlanta drivers aren't that bad, its just that they treat the speed limit like it's barely a suggestion.
