Louisville has an identity, Kentucky does not

Louisville has a clear identity of pushing the pace, shooters getting to their spots, slashing to the basket after working the ball around the perimeter and getting our guys out of the paint, etc. They execute it well.

Through three games for UK, I still do not understand what we are really trying to do out there. I thought we brought in defense, but I don't see huge improvements there, at least not yet.

We have some good, not great shooters at the moment. Our best ones couldn't be on the floor much tonight. Ball handling is an issue too.

I just feel like we are a jack-of-all mid trades, clearly master of none. Pope also put some momentum crushing line-ups out there. Garrison played too much, for instance.

It's still November and our team should improve, but I just hope we find an identity we can excel at soon. Michigan State will beat us if we don't get this crap sorted.

And yet Kentucky had more baskets from the field than Louisville, and shot a higher percentage than Louisville from both the 3-PT and FT line. Louisville had only 1 more 3 pointer than Kentucky despite shooting 40 to Kentucky's 36.

The difference tonight was turnovers and the fact Louisville got to the line and shot 31 FT to Kentucky's 16.

Both teams sucked on defense.

They shot more free throws because their guards could get by with ease - so yeah, bad defense, but we are once again potentially in trouble against a team like Arkansas.

We were trying to do the same thing Louisville was. Only problem is our team isn’t built with shooters at every position, with guard skills and elite playmaking. We tried to play them like we had their roster, rather than playing to the strengths of our own roster. That is infuriating and I bet you we look different after this game.

I sure hope we look different. Mo and Oweh taking threes is just not it. Need Kam to wake up and JQ to arrive.

Jasper will get better, not worried - same with Lowe.
