Hope you don't get shot on your way out.

Bardstown is way more violent than Louisville
Thanks I hope not to get shot either. I say bardstown area but it's closer to bernheim forest. 21 acres off the beaten path so not to worrried about violence.

Just don't do like my wife. She labeled all the boxes to make it easier and they all showed up except the one labeled "LIQUOR". Nobody ever remembered seeing that one.

I've never used a moving company. I just don't trust other people around my belongings. A 24k gold toilet is hard to replace. Seriously though I just trust myself not to lose or break anything over some strangers. Then you have to deal with trying to get it replaced.

A lot more work doing it yourself, but the savings make it worth it. Just grab some family and friends to give you a hand with the heavy stuff and buy them some beer and pizza or whatever for the help.

Hey, I know that guy ^^^^^^^^^^^^. He needs your help often. Because he moves every other year. And he offers up warm Keystone Light and two-day old Dominoes pizza in exchange for your blood, sweat and tears. And make no mistake about it...he is the very same guy who is either "busy at work", "gonna be out of town that day", "forgot about it", or just simply doesn't answer his phone when his own family and/or friends need help moving.

Yep, I know that guy well.

Don't be that guy, H Lecter. Hire someone to move your stuff. Just don't label the liquor box. And keep the DirecTV guy out of the crawl space at your new crib when he installs your new satellite dish.

Whatever. I've not had to move in over 11 years, but when I did I only got some help because my wife was almost 9 months pregnant. Just because you have crappy family and friends that bail on you when you need help don't try and say everyone else is like that as well. I never even had to ask for help since I have a caring family and they automatically volunteered to help without asking since they know I have a bad back. Eleven years later and 3 back surgeries and there probably won't be any more moving for me.

I knew I left one off. "Bad back" is excuse #5. Thanks for reminding me.

Seriously just don't feel like moving the amount of stuff you accrue during a 20 year marriage and 3 kids. Last move was 16 years ago and I had friends help and I've helped them when they moved. Just don't mind paying $800 or so to knock it out in 6 hours.
