Lovie is back!!!! Named Texans new head coach!

I first met Lovie in 1977 at TU. I hope he is given the opportunity to have the coaching staff and players to improve the Texans and that the McNair family supports those efforts.
I didn’t realize that his son Miles is also on the coaching staff of the Texans.

I wish Lovie all the luck in the world with the Texans. He's a better coach than many of the pundints give him credit for and he certainly hasn't had the experience of having the premier front offices during his previous stints as a HC. Texans have been a disaster, so I hope he's not the scapegoat and they truly give him the resources he needs to bring them around. Time will tell
He's being thrown to the wolves. Houston has no plan to be good any time soon. Lovie is getting the same treatment as Romeo Crennel. They have no offensive weapons and their defense is aging. They are setting him up to fail miserably so they can get a high 1st round pick and then hire a new coach.
Despite the beliefs of owners in the NFL, coaches still need the horses to run a good race. If all you keep doing is getting them quarterhorses to run in a thoroughbred race, the coach is not going to succeed.
The current AD knows Lovie, unlike the previous AD, so I’ll bet there will be an encouragement made to donate.
