Even if he does go there I dont think they'll be drastically better than this year. Remember, Johnny Jones is still their head coach.

Didn't we hear some of our football recruits also say we were going to land Damien Harris? Pretty sure no one knows, including Blakeney.

LSU may very well get him but I don't believe that they'd do what UK does with freshman talent.

I think they'd possibly struggle with chemistry problems for the one year they'd be together.

What Cal does isn't easy.

Think Briscoe said something similar. I think if Kentucky loses Booker and the Harrisons, they'll have the best chance for Newman.

If no one goes pro and LSU lands Newman with Simmons and Blackeney, they will be a preseason top 5 team

If it happens they could have a better recruiting class than us on paper. Who stays, who goes however, also will hold tremendous meaning. It wouldn't surprise me that if we have a lot of guys jump there will be some de-commitments elsewhere. LSU lucked out by having a top player related to their program and he has made friends similar to how we have landed some high school players before. However, we also require certain personalities to fit with our program that isn't necessary at LSU.

If UK has an opening for him, he's ours. If we don't have an opening, he might go to LSU.

Even if they got Blakeny (big if) not sure LSU's current coach could find the Sweet 16 with the Hubble Telescope.

Because he likely is. Slotted as a Lottery pick. The NBA is going to drain this team.

Yes they will. The talent will be there but like I said, Johnny Jones is still their coach.

Yes, they will. Should make for an entertaining game next year... as the Cats go for back-to-back NCAA titles.

If the twins come back, I doubt Newman will come. At this point, I'd be surprised if Andrew and Aaron left, so Blakeney might be correct.

If LSU got Newman and Mickey and Martin came back LSU would be top 3 preseason likely even ahead of us assuming we lose 5-7 to the draft. But I think they would end the year barely in the top 25. The singular most underrated thing Cal does is massage ego's. Neman and Blakely would start and get the majority of shots and I highly suspect that's not going to sit well with Gray, Quarterman, and Hornsby. Veteran players don't take losing there spots in the team very well to freshmen even if they understand the younger guy is better. With the talent Cal accumulates here it's a wonder that there is an understanding and acceptance the best guy in practice will play so if you come to UK you better prepare yourself.

I don't know about that, but he is the bad news bear for sure.

How have people not learned yet to quit making absolute statements regarding who leaves and who stays. We've been surprised nearly every year by someone who stays or leave that we weren't expecting. Booker may stay. He may go. Neither any of you nor I know if he is unless he's posting here himself.

Anyone that thinks Newman is a lock for us if the twins leave could be very disappointed . He is very tight with Ben Simmons and Blakeney . He knows he will play point guard and be surrounded with great talent . LSU is selling those kids on blazing their own trail instead of being another player plugged into the system . Right or wrong , that's the selling point . For once I had a little inside information when we were recruiting Andrew Wiggins and I posted it on here and was chastised and hated on . I fully expect it from the narrow minded fans again . We NEED Newman or Brown . Either one and we'll be fine .

Why would any big time basketball recruit want to go to a football school that sees basketball as just filler and doesn't fill the stadium unless one particular SEC team shows up?
