I would think Pope at least infers on him, he is a great player. I imagine surrounding him with shooters would open the floor up for him and his teammates given his ability to get to the basket.
Seen a post that said he entered the portal "due to coaching issues and lack of fan support". We have the perfect setup for him, but I'm not sure Rick will deliver. Pope might though.
I see several portal names associated with Kentucky and none of them seem a wow that would make much of a difference. RJ Luis would and I would much prefer we go after elites than guys just to fill a position. Wait on the average proven ones for later or when a high level coach leaves go after their top recruits.
The fact that Pitino benched this kid is a big red flag to me. Situationally, that struck me as more than sitting a kid down on a rough shooting night. I honestly believed Pitino recognized that his poor-shooting team was facing a low ceiling, and swallowed the loss to Calipari rather than dragging it out with a player that he was disappointed with. If I were a coach, I'd kick every single tire on this potential lemon.
Fans really soured on him after the 3 for 17 vs Arkansas. And he was prob not too thrilled Pitino benched him lol.
Early indications are that he is headed to Miami, possibly with DJ Wagner from Arkansas
