Complete and total FUBAR. Who the hell thought selling 20K to a farm in the middle of nowhere Jessamine county was a good idea.

Glad I didn't go. Pissed my daughter and friends still aren't there.

I live out Tates Creek Road (Hartland area) - my wife and I walked down to TC Road around 9:15 with our dog and the cars were still backed as far as the eye can see (towards town) - I'm about 3.5 miles from the Winery and that's a 2-lane road.

My daughter and her friends left at 5:15. Got to winery at 10:45. Saw 30 minutes of concert. Ridiculous.

Could have saved everyone some time. Rip up pieces of paper write one of the following words/phrases on each piece: girl, tailgate, summer night, truck, tight jeans, dirt road, sweet thang, drinking good stuff, beer, by the river, girl (again). Proceed to pull each piece of paper out and arrange in any order. Boom, there you have it. The lyrics to every Luke Bryan song. Suprisingly you also have the lyrics to every Aldean and Brantley GilBert song too.

That's why you play in arenas and stadiums. They know how to handle a crowd.

They should have just took him to a big hill and gave him a microphone and let him sing to the masses.

For whatever reason, for the size of town Lexington has always had god awful traffic. I dont know if its lack of design, or poor driving, or both.

I'll never understand how country music became bubblegum pop with fake "country" singers who wear ball caps, skinny jeans fohawks and use a fake twang.

Never heard the term "Bro Country" but it's appropriate for this new bunch. Makes you wonder how the old guard felt about Hank Jr et al when they were coming up; huge difference obviously, but that scence couldnt have been anything close to the ******** out there now.

They actually have a Luke Bryan concert in my town at a place called Maple Lane Farms. It's been very interesting because a landowner near the farm has sued the farm for nuisance. The farm does some usual farm stuff with hay rides and corn mazes, but it also tried to do helicopter rides at one point and also puts on 3-6 different concerts a year. If anyone is interested I have linked the decision from the last appeals hearing. https://www.tncourts.gov/sites/default/files/shorevjopn_1.pdf

The problem the landowner (Shore) has is that you cannot file a lawsuit against a farm for a nuisance if the nuisance arises from an agricultural activity. Not long after winning her appeal in the TN Supreme Court the legislature put in legislation that essentially states that concerts are legitimate agricultural activity.

It's an interesting case, IMO.

They sold that many tickets. When i got my daughter tickets I assumed it was going to be a smaller event like 5K or less. Crazy.

When I lived in Jessamine County- I doubt there were 50K people even living there.

20K showing up for a gay country singer in that part of the woods won't happen.

now, you get a bag full of pills and John Michael up on stage and Jessamine Countians will show up in droves.

Yep, read about it in paper this AM. Sounds like Jessamine County has all the good ideas these days. Now they are resurrecting the wonderful idea of a high end, Jack Nicklaus signature course plus expensive real estate development in Wilmore. Sounds like a wonderful plan.

So....they're finally cool with liquor and beer sales now?

Have been for a long time, at least in Jessamine County (can't speak to Wilmore). Champions and Keene even serve alcohol on Sunday, which they never used to do.

Just saw the Talon Winery activity director on WKYT and her response was, "we're out in the country, people should have gotten here earlier" with a smirk on her face.

Not the best look for Talon.

Rain makes corn, corn makes whiskey
Whiskey makes my baby, feel a little frisky
Back roads are boggin' up, my buddies pile up in my truck
We hunt our hunnies down, we take 'em into town
Start washin' all our worries down the drain
Rain is a good thing

They responded to one tweet from all the mentions they had last night. Had to be this same woman. It was a smart as response to Matt Jones.

This is not a reflection on Lex traffic. There are two roads leading into the area with only one connected to the farm, both are 2 lane smallish country roads. If you thought going to said concert would proceed smoothly, you may be surprised to learn that scissors are sharp, night is dark, and coffee is hot.

I guess they had to make people forget about the bad music. This way they get something for their 50 bucks

No, I meant Jessamine county has managed to get the "great" Cincinnati pizza to Nicholasville. Opens early 2016.

Seriously??

I also saw in the paper where Talon said the traffic and planning was the responsibility of Luke Bryan's people. How the hell are you supposed to plan around one way in and one way out? The only thing I can think of is selling fewer tickets or having it at a different venue. I suspect Talon would not have been happy with either option.

It probably wasn't the best time for a Talon representative to be laughing and smiling about the situation on the news when they have so may people angry with them.

the music is awful because of the people who buy it having absolutely zero taste. and there are lots of them.
I was amazed that every female dressed like they were going to be in a Farmers Only commercial. Every single woman had cowboy boots on. With a long walk in and the flustered state from seeing this boy live, I'm guessing this is what happened when they got home.
