Jackson has really had a great year-the kind of year NC needed him to have. That said, Luke averaged more pts/game, shot higher % overall and from 3. Also think Luke's chances were tougher due to no real pt guard vs. Jackson having Berry and NC having a better post presence than Duke. Add Luke's rebounding from the 2 spot and I don't see how you could give it to Jackson.

Kennard was the guy over looked with all the talent duke had coming into this year. But man he's had one hell of a season. He's more than worthy of winning the award.

Most Heel fans I know respect him a great deal. Great worth ethic, offensive machine, seems like a nice kid. Only thing I have against him is that he chose to play for the wrong side :D

That said, if they gave it to Justin I think he would be deserving as well. And I hope they do haha

Think Luke has had a better year but have always felt that to the victor belongs the spoils so I would give it to Jackson. They won the championship now have to go take a shower

They gave it to VT's Erick Green in 2013 just because he led the ACC in scoring and his team was awful. Luke should get it

So what, Luke has been the best PLAYER. That is what the award is all about. Not an MVP.

Luke is da man, and deserves the award. I still think Jackson will get it because of the Heel's success. I hope I'm wrong.

I'm shocked. I thought Kennard had a slight edge going into the last week and Jackson played poorly against Virginia and scored some, but shot horribly from three vs. Duke. I thought that would seal the award for Kennard. I'm happy for Jackson, but my ballot would have gone to Kennard. I hope he goes pro, but I expect Kennard to be back at Duke next year, but Jackson gone (as he should).

The unbalanced schedule needso to be at least recognized in voting...all participants don't play the same schedules, so basing a lot on total team performance is iffy....the top 5 teams this season was Unc/Duke/ND/Vill/Fsu....Jackson played duke2x and all the others just once and at home.....Kennard faced uncx2 fsux2 and ville and ND on the road...things like that should be considered somewhat....and even worse the bottom 5 teams...unc played 7x and Duke 5x....kudos to both kids

Honestly can anyone recall a previous first place finisher In the entire history of the ACC without a single road win against any of the other top 8 teams on the road?
The Heels only had to even play 3 road games against the other top 8 teams in the conference. They got all their games against the bottom six teams. Duke of course played every one of those other 8 teams on the road.

Well guys, it is what it is. I would like to think that we as Duke fans, could be a little more gracious and congratulate Justin Jackson on this award. He seems to be a very nice young man, and also very humble.
We can be glad to have a player like Luke, and congratulate him on making 1st Team ACC. So, for my part, congratulations to Justin and Luke, you are both a source of pride to your schools.
Go Duke!

Justin Jackson had a great season and I agree with jcdevilfan, seems like a decent guy. So congrats.

Not to take anything away from JJ, but the voting was weird. Kennard was the only unanimous pick for First-Team ACC, but was fourth in ACC POY voting. How does that happen?
