Yeah we have too many work-in-progress areas to be a 1 seed at this point. But Lunardi looked dumb having us as a 3 when there are more strong arguments for us being the toughest 2 seed than arguments against. Thank you, Joe. I guess.

Lunardi has the best job in the world.

Make stuff up
Lots and lots of people listen to you
Your not accountable for being wrong
Probably has an agent to negotiate salary
Trademarked “bracktology”?! LMAO
Does the Selection Committee call him? Nah.
Does it matter? Nah.

That guy better wake every morning and pinch himself. “Is this a dream? No?! Schwoo!!”

I follow a lot of the bracket matrix guys on Twitter, and they do their own seed lists every few days. From what I've seen, we're right on the edge of last 2 seed/first two 3 seeds.

It'll really come down to Saturday. I think if we win, we solidify ourself as a strong 2. Lose, you're probably still very comfortably a 3 seed.

I’m glad we successfully bullied Joe. He was getting roasted by BBN in his last bracket update

Honestly, it’s a joke

With our resume we should be the #1 seed - we aren’t the number one team but seeding is about resumes.

Name a better resume. Not even auburns is better.
Auburn's is definitely better than ours. We have three losses to their one, and their one loss was to a top 5 Duke team. They've beaten Houston basically at Houston, Iowa St., which is better than any win we have right now, and have wins against current top 25 Purdue, Memphis, and Mississippi St. They're 9-1 in Quad 1 games to our 6-3. Plus our loss to Ohio St. right now is a pretty big mark against us.

But at the end of the day none of this matters at this point in the season anyway.

Fun to look at but this guess-timation is just that. Keep winning we are a 1. Lose more than 3 more and we are no higher than a 2 (depending on whoever else loses), lose 4 to 5 more and we are a 3 seed and so forth. All depends on who loses. Remember last year where all top 10 teams lost on the same weekend. No one moved. A timely loss is not as big a deal. Lost 2 to 3 straight and you drop quickly.

Maybe the best part of it all, is his work gives him the ability to watch countless games. Imagine being paid to be a fan and give your opinion, which is basically what he does.

I was just responding to someone who said we deserved to be a 1-seed. I'm saying, a 2-seed is fair given who our losses were against.
It's fair. But being the last 2 seed isn't. That's a damn joke. All three of our loses are Q1 losses. Minus the 20 point drubbing we got, we really don't have a bad loss at all. Having us below a Bama team that should've lost to freaking North Dakota and just got beat at home by Ole Miss by 10 is indefensible to be honest.

I know his placements don't mean diddly, but dang, we do have one of the best resumes in CBB atm.

This problem may work itself out but it is a problem. How are SEC teams with 20 plus quad 1 games getting passed over. Duke is lucky they got Auburn in Cameron.

Predictive metrics like KenPom also matter to the selection committee now and we aren't as strong in those, so we are losing a spot or two in the seed list as a result.

Fun to talk about possible outcomes on what is the toughest conference in sometime. Apparently we all need to watch out for Missouri and thier coach. UK and Auburn are good Alabama is probably right there with us and all the talking heads will give Duke the typical slurping while they run through a weak conference again. It gives them time to work on stuff while SEC teams fight it out on back to back to back ranked games.

Seeding about nerd numbers from nerds like Lunardi.

It doesn't matter. just play. We go 17-1 in the SEC and we are a 1 anyway.

Just theoretically, what would UK have to do before Joe would put us as a #1 ???
Don’t get me wrong, I could care less. Would 10 wins in a row over top 15 competition do it?? He always loves him some Kansas and Duke.

It’s all about the metrics. We aren’t as overpowering of a team as some others according to the numbers

I wonder if the increased emphasis & reliance upon metrics & analytics will result in less of a need for asst-coaches, commentators & talking heads?

Seems like a logical next step

Accompanied by an increase in sports gambling consultants

Might have to move them to a 1 seed if they beat Bama on Saturday.

They won't, they will still focus on the losses, they will also say Alabama had 3 guys out/injured and it was in Rupp.

I guess it's okay to ignore the fact that UK played a much tougher schedule than most of the teams in front of them, UK has more bigtime wins and it's okay that Florida played a terrible schedule and it's okay that Florida and Bama lost at home and it's no big deal that duke lost to UK and plays a weak schedule.

I guess playing a weak schedule is just the way to go. I mean, right, Florida didn't lose to Ohio State, well, because they didn't play them, in fact, they didn't play anybody of that caliber. But they're ahead of UK on the seed list.

Alabama lost at home and looked bad, they also damn near lost to North Dakota state, but they are ahead of us with no questions asked. Sure, they beat Houston, but that's nowhere near as good as at least 3 of UK's wins.

The OSU loss is still a quad 1 loss, but they're treating it like it's a quad 4 loss. It's crazy.

Top 2 SEC teams will get 1’s along with Duke - Iowa St or Michigan St. Kentucky wins 13 or more SEC games that should get them a 1 seed.
