It is this weekend and some of the wrestlers that intrigue me is Petersen and Ludington!

I believe Petersen is a worker and I’m excited to see him up a weight and hopefully healthy.

Also, excited to see Harvey compete!

Also, is CJ healed up? I remember hearing that he was nursing a small injury. So I’m curious if he is healed up and will also be going to the Luther open.

Does anyone know of other teams that may be there?

History is your guide: A whole lot of D2 and D3 backups with a smattering of starters.

Also, I give up...who's CJ? Maybe I'm being dense, but I don't see anyone on the roster with that name, or has a first name that starts with C, or last name that starts with J.

Im sure there is a method to their madness concerning Luddington. Was he unattached or does this count as one of his 5 attached dates?

I'm quite sure it counts as one of your 5 whether you're in the silver division or not. I say that based on Estrada last year.

It counts as 1 of the 5. Dont think true freshman are allowed to wrestle unattached in their 1st semester, or so the rules state

Didn't they actually do that even with Metcalf early in his freshman season?
Metcalfs freshman yr was at V Tech, where he RS... and when he transferred to Iowa, V Tech didnt grant him or the other transfers their release so his 1st yr at iowa he wasnt allowed to compete for iowa, so all he could do his RS Fr yr was wrestle unattached in opens and free style tournaments, he lost the entire yr of eligibility cause V Tech are scumbags

Well aware of what happened. I was saying, didn’t they enter him into the silver bracket at a tournament the beginning of his true freshman season? I am pretty sure he was at a tournament where a big matchup could have happened but he was in the Silver bracket instead.

No seriously. Tell him about all your trophies and points on a message board. You clearly know your crap.

I will do this when you let the admins know that coaching decisions aren't allowed to be questioned or discussed on message boards. Cheerleading posts only. What an interesting board this will be!

My "facts" might be off a bit here, but maybe others who remember better can piece it together better.

I think you're thinking about Minnesota stud Dustin Schlatter in Omaha. He was in the lower bracket and Metcalf with the big boys. Schlatter would end up winning NCAA's that year I believe.

That same year Metcalf lost in the Finals of the same tournament in Omaha to Iowa's returning All-American Ty Eustice 1-0 from a penalty point from a headgear grab.

So, that's my recollection, I didn't google anything, so may be off some.

That sounds right. I didn’t want to get the names wrong going off memory as well, but it is entirely possible that it was Schlatter in the low and Metcalf in the high, but it was hard to remember it that way since Schlatter wrestled attached his freshman year and Metcalf redshirted.

I could be mistaken, but I think Schlatter was still in redshirt at that time in Omaha. Then J-Rob had an epiphany and realized his overall #1/1A recruit was really that good. 🙂

The Gophers and Va. Tech were far apart as Programs at that time, so it made sense for both to what actually transpired.
