on the way home, I heard enter sandman by Metallica. When I was younger I used to think he would say tuck you in, warm within "sink your free throws in."

Of course that made no sense but that's what it sounded like.

Another is a given, wrapped up like a douche lol.

And of course basically all of yellow Ledbetter.

That's a few upon thousands I've screwed up, which I'll add to the list. What songs did you butcher with the absolute wrong lyrics?

When I was in my sophomore yr no doubt had that song spider webs. My friends believed and made me believe she said I scream my balls off, rather than I screen my phone calls

Zeppelin's Black Dog: I thought 'a big-legged woman ain't got no soul' was 'a filleted woman ain't got no sole' which is actually giving them credit for being way more clever than they proved to be, the big plagiarizers.

Slippery When Wet came out in 1986 when I was 7 years old and the big hit was You Give Love A Bad Name.

Well I didn't know the title of the song and I heard it on the radio many times but 7 year old me thought the lyrics went:

Shot through the heart and you're in pain you need love and a band-aid. :D

The Spinners: "One of a Kind, Love Affair Is". The 12 yr old me: "One of a Kind, Love of Fairies". My only excuse is I first heard that song on a AM transistor radio. When my big sister played it on her stereo, it was as clear as a bell.

Regulate by Warren G and Nate Dogg

Real lyric: I'm getting jacked, I'm breaking myself
I can't believe they're taking Warren's wealth
They took my rings, they took my Rolex.

What I heard:
I'm getting jacked, I'm breaking myself
I can't believe they're taking Lawrence Welk
They took my rings, they took my Rolex.

I could never understand why had Lawrence Welk or why anybody would take him.

And no I wasn't smoking like Nate Dogg smoked and high everyday although that might be only way those lyrics make sense. :joy:

Pretty much butchered the lyrics to most every song growing up. Was part of the fun listening to music at parties/hanging out with friends and arguing over what they were actually singing.

To this day I still change lyrics to songs to fit my narrative. Drives my wife and kids nuts. Which merely fuels the fire.

90% of Louie Louie. Love the song but the lyrics are mostly unintelligible. The FBI agrees .

Rolling Stones: war children, it's just a shot away.

Cat_chaser: Bartender, he's just a shout away.

I've always been awful with lyrics.

When I was a kid I thought "Our lips are sealed" as "Honest I see you."

Islands in the stream was "Smile and say mystery."

Yeah, I know. :flushed:

Jeremiah was a bullfrog
Was a good friend of mine
Never understood a single word he said
But i helped him drink his wine
And he always had to modify wild

Half the Lyrics to Jethro Tulls" Locomotive Breath"
In the shuffling madness
Of the locomotive breath,
Runs the all, time loser,
Headlong to his death

He feels the piston scraping
Steam breaking on his brow
Old Charlie stole the handle and
The train it won't stop going

No way to slow down
He sees his children jumping off
At stations, one by one
His woman and his best friend

In bed and having fun
He's crawling down the corridor
On his hands and knees
Old Charlie stole the handle and

The train it won't stop going
No way to slow down
He hears the silence howling
Catches angels as they fall

And the all-time winner
Has got him by the balls
He picks up Gideons Bible
Open at page one

I think God He stole the handle and
The train won't stop going
No way to slow down
No way to slow down
No way to slow down
No way to slow down
No way to slow down
No way to slow down
No way to slow down
No way to slow down
No way to slow down

I always wondered how in 1987 Def Leppard knew about an Iphone.

Love is like a bomb baby come get it on.
Living like a lover with a red Iphone.
