Nah, man...you got it all wrong. I have it on good authority (Cat fans) Stoops took a courtesy interview only because of his history with the program. FSU offered boat loads of cash and a lifetime contract, but Stoops love for UK and Lexington made it an offer he COULD and did, refuse. Sorry FSU...on to your 2nd or 3rd choice, Numero Uno is not interested. GBB! :D

I told my UK friend today that I remembered back in college when I was naive enough to believe that Bobby would never leave. They think Stoops would stay there forever LOL.

Stoops, lol. FSU wouldn’t piss on him. If he got an interview it was because someone owed somebody a favor. He’s made splash at a perineal homecoming team. Nobody’s fooled by his skills, when expectations are low you can look like Knute Rockne and still ain’t accomplished sh@t.

No guys, we’ve got it wrong again!! I’ve heard through the BBN hotline that Stoops was offered one billion dollars per season plus lucrative bonuses, a Mercedes dealership, his own yacht right there on the Tallahassee bay, the Kardashian sisters and Bobby Flay as his personal chef. Stoops just laughed, tore up the paperwork and threw it in their faces!! He said he would never leave UK because of it’s rich football tradition and history and the vibrant Lexington cultural scene!! I admit this has been woefully under-reported but have no reason to doubt the authenticity of this report.

Why would somebody “interview” to say “not interested”?

That does not compute.

His office would be empty today had they offered.
My friend is a Florida State fan.

He says that Stoops is one of those insurance candidates in the 2nd tier if the elite guys say no. They want Urban Meyer, Brian Kelly, or someone like that.

FSU made the request to speak with Stoops to gage his interest. I think they talked about money and goals. He wanted to know where he stood. I think they basically said that they’re be interested if the top guys say no which would be into late December if it happened.

It was more of a due diligence check for FSU. That’s how coaches make their list and it’s smart to do after seeing what happened at Tennessee. He was on their list and they just wanted to see if he’d be willing to hold out and wait and he wanted to see where he was on their list. It keeps you from a big surprise and you know where you go if your big fish says no.

Stoops can leak it to the press that he’s not interested. They don’t want him to be their big target, but he can sell it as that big programs are interested and he needs a raise. Smart PR for him.

Similarly I bet Vince did a similar thing last season. He knew that Brohm was the target, but had Scott ready on speed dial if Jeff said no.

Glad he stayed. He's done well all considered.
Truth of the offer????? Wouldn't know. Could be he wanted Taggert money and FSU can't afford that right now until Willie T. Gets another home.

A few weeks from now the carousel will start on the coaching go round.....Arkansas has huge money to throw. AND I'm not sold that South Carolina won't jump in as well.
