A lotta doubters out there right now.
I keep hearing about everyone else’s schedule and I’m still gonna say as I do every year at this time.
THE NW1A will prove to be one of the better 1a conferences this year. Starmount will play deep, East Wilkes will play a few rounds and Alleghany will play 2 rounds deep and pull and upset on someone. East Surry will make a real good team sweat as will North Surry. Bears schedule was tougher than usual. With that said someone will have to come to Wallace Shelton and TAKE the west from the Bears at their house. With what I see out there and potential matchups I like their chance for a December showdown with the purple team.

Not to be Debbie Downer but the Bears did not look good on Friday night despite winning 42 to 7.
I mean, why could they not do better?
Just because I understand about 1/3 to 40% of the team missed practice this week due to the flu running through everybody.
Or that 5 or 6 starters did not play at all and several others only played "some".
One TE/DE only kicked off and extra points.
The regular punter did not even dress out.
I mean just excuses. Right?

Alleghany is a much improved team compared to last couple year. Numbers are up and so is the size of their line. Gave Mitchell all they wanted earlier in season.
This actually makes me feel a little bit better because Starmount looked bad Friday night as well. Worst they've looked since the first half of first game of the season against Trinity.
After halftime they thought they had the rest of the night off I think. Some players sitting out/or not playing much to recover from injuries or to avoid injury but still should've never happened. I would bet there's probably gonna be consequences at practice this week lol
Projections have them coming to Murphy round 2, interested to see how they look if it plays out that way.
I think they're a little bit like East Wilkes in that you don't know which team is gonna show up. They looked terrible against Starmount. It was like 28-0 in the first quarter(42-0) at the half. But against East Wilkes they played very well.
Probably smashing those two defensive ends in the face. Oh shucks he ran right over me

I actually think they could make 4th round that YouTube video of ER and Randleman didn't make ER look that great to me. 1st round will be easy 2nd robbinsville team with all there starters out apparently or Cherokee if they get bumped up and 3RD RD game vs ER would be a good game IMO.... Mt airy would kill them though in 4th
With Murphy jumping MH, they would be going to MH correct? Or is MH going to retake 2nd after their last game?
Possibly, but Murphy has opponents that still have games. Most Notably are West Henderson at 6-3 which should go to 7-3 and more helpful is 6-2 Franklin playing 6-3 Smokey Mountain. I suspect Murphy may hang on to #2.
