I said yesterday or the day before, over on the woodshed, that the B1G is going to cancel/postpone. I look for that to occur within the next couple of weeks. Today they announced no pads in practice, but I've heard from a very reliable source from MSU that they'll likely be postponing the season. I know my post sounds like hogwash, but wait and see.

I believe it. I was only 25% sure the season would start and only 15% sure it would finish.

This could end up like MLB. Play the games you can. St Louis has played 5 games so far. Philly 7, Miami 8, Most teams between 10-14. Cleveland at 16. Don't know how you can crown a champion with schedules that are so disparate.

There is no point of playing this year...its exhibition football. Not worth getting hurt for a meaningless season.

Well I think they (P5 universities) want to have some football just to justify keeping the donations that are required to purchase tickets and not allowing them to count for next season. I don’t see them getting a partial season in even for that.

My gut says the more demands that players are making the more of a turnoff it is to a lot of fans and all things considered the easier it’s gonna be for universities (who don’t want players talking or making demands anyways) to say see you in 2021.

As for the comment from Mr MeatChickenHerd (joking), I agree with you. if I had to make a prediction I’d say the Pac12 or B1G will be the first P5 conferences to shut it down in 2020. In early to mid June I also had an acquaintance of mine who was the college roommate of one of the highest paid coaches in college football tell me he had vacationed with him the week before. When ask about this season, the statement was, ‘we will all go through the motions but there’s no way we’ll have anything even resembling college football in 2020’.

You could start the season Jan 10 (second Sat in Jan). End April 10 (second Sat in April). That gives you 14 weeks. 12 games, 1 bye, 1 conf champ game. Bowls the next 3 weeks, Champ game by mid May. May 15 gives you 5 Sat's to get all the bowl games in. And we're done.....

You afraid of a little snow and cold? Put on an extra pair of socks and layer up. Don't be a pansy.
