Agree. UK needs a Woodson/Couch type of QB to really excel in the SEC. Mac Jones has that type of potential.

Always tough when bigger programs start calling but Jones has already witnessed the disappointment of last year AND the departure of the coach that recruited him. I know he was real excited and firmly committed before all that and he seems to have reaffirmed that after the dust settled on new coaches etc. so he had every reason to bail then.

So while Mac will get interest for sure, he will be a tougher flip than most because he seems to genuinely like it here and the opportunity ahead. He's already got an SEC school, with a lean depth chart at a place he really likes . . .the only thing a bigger school can offer is tradition and bigger bowl games, but the down side is tougher depth chart too.

I like our chances to keep him and said a long time ago I think he'll be real good.

I like our chances to keep Mac, I knew it would be only a matter of time before he started rising in the rankings. He has a really good throwing motion and just throws a damn nice ball.

You would think that his rise in the rankings will only help to attract some higher rated WR's like Javonte Richardson, etc. Mac's rise also can't do anything but help lure guys like Wills.

If UK can land those 2 guys, this class might really take off. Even without them, nobody in the 2017 class is currently rated below 5.6. With them, this class might end up ranked in the top 10-15.
