Considering we couldn't catch a cold on Saturday and Bobby is clearly getting loose with some strategy; he could be trying to get UVA to over prepare for our option by announcing this early. Real world that's all we have currently; but, Cunningham has more time in the pocket than he thinks, hes got a cannon and is pretty damn accurate for a true freshman.

I think we're hoping he's the guy for Bobby to find a sweet spot between this option first team and a genuine passing threat. Bottom line is our staff has to be well aware our offense has yet to show a pulse and before our team's enormous ego just implodes we need some success from our wideouts. Homeruns cure the yips so to speak and I think we're swinging for the fences. Probably won't work but hey, humility left the building 4th & 3 on our own 30.

MC is LJ light. He's just a tad bit less quick, but he makes every play exciting to watch. He needs to make better reads and better decisions. The only way to do that is with experience.

Puma best stay focused and ready to play though. I got a feeling we'll see both this Saturday.

It appears to me that MC has the most heart and the players appear to be more motivated by MC.

Agreed and as we often see a running QB often gets hit and knocked out of games. This may be whats needed to let Puma bake a little more. He made some really nice throws against Bama, so its there. Not sure of the recent disconnect, but it sure would help if the RB/WR/TE's catch the ball!!

Thing is teams usually play like they practice and with the personality of the head coach. So I ask you to explain all the penalties and over all crappy plays?

Love the decision. He clearly gives us the best chance to play “Bobby-ball”, start fast, jump on the opponent early and make the opponent play catch-up.

Puma just did not make enough plays as the starter, and that’s all that can be said about that. It’s not all his fault, but he is the QB of an ineffective offense. Those types of QB’s don’t remain starters long for Bobby Petrino.

Don’t know about the penalties, but crappy pass plays (ie dropped passes) by WR’s, RB’s and QB’s to me points back to not enough reps during the “voluntary” summer conditioning drills.

I'm enjoying watching MC at qb because his play has been a bit of a surprise, but I'm wondering why Bobby doesn't go back to well like he did when Stefan and B. Brohm were working in tandem. Stefan was a great on his feet while Brohm was a great pocket passer and they split a lot of playing time. Who knows maybe that's what he's doing.

I suspect that will be the reality of the QB situation this year. Both MC and Pass will split the duties going forward IMO.

He may be the next Lamar...mark it down

Spot on and he is our winner and leader on offense.

He’s to slow to be LJ. When a good D prepares for him it will be more difficult for him to successful. He succeeded against very bad teams but he’s no LJ, not close. Where LJ abused defenses with his speed and ability to juke, MC sneaks through the D. I’m hoping for the best because we need a break. The one thing he has going for him is the fact that the line in the second half gave him good protection at times.

I think he’ll do ok against UVA and maybe FSU but after that it will get interesting. Having said all that he’s our best option at the moment. Travis will leap frog both MC and Puma. According to Chris Redman he’s an LJ style player with a better arm and more accurate.

I think the kid is gonna be more like Teddy, escape, but keep your eyes down the field. The offense moves forward with its passing.

I think people are missing the bigger picture. MC didn't win the job because he's making better reads, throwing better balls, making better pre-snap calls, showing a better command of the offense, etc etc etc.....he got the job because when the offense is stagnant or breaks down, (Just as when Pass is in the game) he can take off running.
That's NOT a good thing. And It reeks of desperation. I wish the kid the best, and I hope he continues to develop. Lord knows we need some kind of spark. I guess we'll see.

All I know is the offense scored more points when Malik was at QB. If wanting to continue to score is desperate, then we have different definitions of what desperate is.

No doubt the offense works better and we score more. And ultimately that's the bottom line.....but the reason it works better is simply MC's ability to run around like a chicken with his head cut off until something good happens. I was hoping for more at this point. And that's not a knock on MC, but its disappointing.

Keep in mind that Jawon Pass came from a RPO system, so it's not like he cannot run. He's an excellent athlete and could run if he needed to do so. He did just that several times with success against Alabama.

This is where the issue of his turf toe injury comes in - something that Petrino mentioned yet again in press conferences this week. It was pretty clear against both Indiana State and Western Kentucky that he wasn't as mobile as he was against Alabama, and that hurt the offense's performance, not having that extra dimension.

If MC scrambling is what it takes to win, then scramble on, my man. I don’t have an issue with it. I do, however, have issue with a stagnant offense.
