Got into a fight with a coach? Kicked off team, later apologized, let back on team and then suspended. Pretty odd circumstances.

Oh man, the drama appears far from over apparently. You hate to hear this especially from a team captain. One would hope this past week or so would unite the team but I guess not.

Not too surprised, remember when Puma was suspended for the UK game after Bobby was fired. Toxic environment will not wash away soon for whatever reason.

Coaches don’t leave mid season if things are good. How can Mack and Pegues be on a different planet when it came to discipline. They have coached together for a long time. What is weird situation.

to me, purely speculative, buy just seems malik's head is always randomly elsewhere, if that makes any sense, so while manual forrest and billy thompson used to go to lovetron, i guess mailk actually goes to the twilight zone

Good news is it can be washed away in BB pretty quick with a new coach. If KPs it and he can recruit like everyone thinks, players will be recruited over pretty darn fast. Don’t see many staying, probably Curry, Wheeler, and Ellis. Beyond that I don’t see many playing. Any problem players will be shown the exit. I would say Crosses days are numbered

GOOD RIDDANCE!!! this is a positive for our team. We don't need garbage Malik out there pouting and not trying at all cause he's not happy. Wow you're an adult, not a child but u act just like a kid when u don't get your way. I'm done and over it. He's been here for 5 years because ... HE'S NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO MAKE THE NEXT LEVEL, so let him go who cares. Everybody in the nation seen his attitude and even the tv announcers we're talking about how it was unacceptable. We have plenty of big men that have more potential then he could dream of. Ya everybody says don't be mean to the kids. But he's a grown *** man. Screw it, the players have the ability to get paid now so what comes with it is the SCRUTINY from outsiders. I'm happy he's suspended and I won't miss his play at all. I hope he ruined his basketball career with his actions. He can transfer for his 9th year in college if he wants lol who cares anymore with this dude

I admit this is not a good look for Malik or the whole team just more unneeded drama and bad publicity. However, it’s hard to make a judgment on this since we don’t know the whole story.

Looked to me like the team played with so much more energy and passion. Guys who normally just go through the motions played more determined. Looks to me like Malik being out was and is addition by subtraction.

The team played with so much more energy and we still lost so how do we fix it?
Sitting @ .500 at this point in the season you just play it out find the guys that want it and coach them up the best that you can.

If the team is actually improving you use the final stretch to try to solidify some roles and you go into the ACCT looking for that miracle.

It seems highly unlikely the ACC won't be all aboard the Coach K Farewell Tour for that ACCT though.

So really you just hope the last two games is how the team is moving forward and you see how many Ws you can get.

I know Curry got in a little bit of foul trouble but there’s no way he should be only playing 17 minutes. We’re still playing way too many guys. We got basically 10 guys playing 10-25 minutes. Duke played 6 guys or so with their starting 5 playing over 35 minutes.

Because of our inconsistency, we haven’t established a definite substitution pattern. Now with Pegues taking over, it looks like we’re starting over a competition for playing time.

Williams basically decided he was not going to play in the post this year. This is where Mack lost the team IMO. His captain refused to be the one thing he preached over and over….tough.

He has been incredibly soft this year defending and playing in the post. I get it with all his injuries but you can’t have your captain do the opposite of what you are preaching. Then your captain threw you under the bus. Mack knew at that point it was time to move on.

If that was the issue then Mack is the one to blame for being a weak coach. You get attitude and you sit their *** on the bench not reward them with playing time. Who was in charge of this team, Mack or Malik?
