I mean Stanford was in the Final Four so hard to top that, but beating Louisville and Rick, especially after starting the game down 18-5 really showed we had the team that could with the title.

This is a no-contest. It's '92 Duke. Even though we lost, it's maybe the greatest college basketball game ever played. If you were old enough in '92 (maybe 12 or older), you not only remember it, but would likely remember many plays.

It broke my heart. Hence, all the more memorable.

Unfortunately, the 1 game the Cats lost on this list the 92-game vs Duke is considered the greatest college basketball game of all time.

I've never really thought about comparing those two games. But the '98 Stanford game was every bit as good as the '92 Duke game. You just didn't have the hype because Laettner/Duke weren't involved. Incredible performances by both teams, and we just made one more play than they did, just like the Duke game only opposite. I can't remember UK winning a game where the opponent played as great as Stanford did that day.

Neither team played great defense in 92. If UK had gone on to win it all, I think the Notre Dame game would deserve it.

The thing that made the 92 game great was that if you broke the whole game into 5 minute segments, each segment was 5 minutes of the best the game has to offer. Hated the outcome and that Laettner turd but the game was terrific from start to finish.
It didn't involve UK but, the first Ole Miss/Auburn game this season was another very good game where both teams made unbelievable play after unbelievable play. Both teams played way above their heads, the whole game long. If it was two blue bloods and in the tourney, we'd be hearing about that one for a long time too.
