I had had a long day Tuesday and I did fall asleep in the chair (tv still on though) at halftime during the Clemson game.

For that reason, I wasn't giving up at halftime last night. I was just hoping the halftime adjustment would get the final deficit down to a 'respectable margin'!

Wow!

The chicken littles that posted in the game thread and on the front page about how he is no better than Cal have no clue about basketball in general. He made so many adjustments-players and scheme throughout the game. The 2nd half was a coaching clinic. We should be appreciative and proud for what he has brought to rhe table. Players will want to play for him and in his system.

I pulled into a gas station outside Morganfield up here right after the dUKe game and the guy said he turned the game off in the first half as UK fell behind.

I hope he stayed up for this one.

lol

This is definitely a second half team. Pope makes adjustments and attacks. Kinda reminds me of 98. Comeback cats redux?
They are definitely playing like that team.
I believe that team was trailing in every single tournament game at some point.
I'm not mistaken we were down 10 at halftime to Utah in the national championship.

Yes we got to play Utah for a title LOL. !!!

I went to bed, but I tend to do that with most sporting events that go past 10 Central time these days. However, I slept in my gear and was up watching the recorded video of the 2nd half comeback by 6:45 as I drank coffee (from my lucky mug). I'll probably do the same tonight with the Chiefs' game. Go Big Blue!

I’m gonna man up and confess that I went to bed at halftime…. No excuses, other than perhaps I’ve been conditioned by recent past experience that the likelihood of winning was very low at halftime…..

I hope I never do that again, especially on a weekend when I don’t have to get up early the next day for work.

Love that guy. I didn’t waiver on going to bed or not but I didn’t think we would win. Even when we went to OT, I didn’t know if we had enough in the tank because of foul trouble and being down 2 players. I was just proud of the fight and the adjustments to get us back in the game.

I thought we'd at least make a run in the second half.

Even in the first half there was times we had cut it down to six and then just had a bunch of empty possessions in a row and I was like mannnnnn we are getting there just can't seem to get over that last hump.

Well we got there in the second half lol.

I watched the game at 5AM this morning without knowing the outcome. I took me 45 minutes to watch it.

Definitely some sad people.

I'll give people a pass for this one. Game starting at 9C/10 EST makes for a late night.

But man, what an ending to miss.

I try to do this when I absolutely have to miss something..........but I normally end up getting the result spoiled before I can lol.

Australian cricket starts on the 13th. Those games begin 3am here lol. But luckily no one that lives in the USA cares about cricket so that's ok for me to watch on replay lol.

I will ***** and moan but I never give up on UK basketball (except once). I will live in misery until the end if they lose. Cal was the only one who could make me quit and that was when I walked out of the Champions Classic vs Duke in Indianapolis. I even live 25 minutes from the game but that was just too much.

It's nice to be in Colorado where I can go to bed at a normal time even after a "late" eastern time zone game.

And the 7 pm EST games are 5 pm here, so I just come home, grab a beer, have dinner with the family, then go watch the YouTubeTV recording (while staying off my phone and ignoring family/friends in-game texts...).

I still couldn't sleep after the game, though, even with an Elijah Craig night cap (that I shouldn't have had because I feel it this morning!).

In fairness we were down just 9 at half v Puke, 16 at Gonzaga.

But guess what? I hung tough just like UK and I stayed up the whole way down 31 w/15 left in the Maravich Center.

Im a die hard
I'm getting the feeling that if we were down 25 at the half we'd find a way to get those extra 26 in the 2nd half we'd need to win.

admittedly I was one of them. I made it to halftime, heard the 175-0 stat and was like I'll DVR it

Woke up at 2:30, asked Alexa who won the game, then I was so excited I went downstairs and watched it, then came on here
That’s fantastic. You must’ve been giddy.

I always felt bad for Majerus. You know he had to hate UK.

He lost to us in the second round twice (93, 03), Sweet 16 twice (1996, 2005), elite 8 (1997) and title game (1998).
