This is why it was so nice to see us close the portal fairly early, to go build up recruiting relationships in 2026 and beyond.

Pitino praised Pope's work ethic when he was a player. Obviously that's still a big part of the way he's wired. That's a good thing.
See this list, except for in state prospect Kinney, Pope really focuses on size and athleticism and strength for HS recuits, all recruits mentioned in this post are assumed to have SEC-ready body in day 1 in college
