Its early and that standing wont last but i will still take it. The longer he can stay at or near the top the better it makes UK look. Marrow is a beast in Ohio.

Every year under Stoops we have gotten more very early commits. It's another example of the high quality work our staff is doing on the recruiting trail.

Bout time. It's not like he is doing this at Bama, USCw, Michigan, etc, especially the talent he brought in his second year coming off a season with TWO OOC wins, zero conference wins. He doesn't even have the (unpublished) advantages jurich gives UL.

And he should be there at the end of the year also, based on prior results. They shouldn't give it to some crook that arranges hotels full of prostitutes like they did UL's NROTY at the U, who knows what kind of parties they had at Minardi Hall during football recruiting. All those commits from Florida (12 of 23, including all four of the four stars from Miami in his turnaround class) didn't travel all that distance from home for Louisville's frontage on the Ohio, the bikinis, or the sunshine, OR the chance to play with a program with great tradition and upside at the time. Was BP the QB coach at the time? It always puzzled me why Bridgewater would travel all that distance from home since he was so close to his mother that raised him with no help when she could have driven across town to see him play, and given him a home cooked meal on weekends. And he did it without even visiting?

But then the single hard working mom didn't seem to have any problems traveling thousands of miles to watch him play, so I guess jurich had that covered also.

I have to laugh every time ESPN tries to portray Strong as the great recruiter that turned UL around with never a mention of hurtt, they owe jurich a lot of favors for all those Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (High schools night), and even Sunday games, no problem for him at a minutes notice.

I understand some Transfer U fans are unhappy with me, understandable since the truth really hurts sometimes.

Well deserved and I feel another raise coming.[winking]

He deserves it, but we are at the point where I think that UK needs to make a bowl game to prove it. A bowl game proves that he has been recruiting well. If they fail to make a bowl in year 4, you could argue that UK's recruiting has been a lot of hype & smoke & mirrors. But, if UK makes a bowl, I think that he should get a hefty raise.

But I am not the AD so it doesn't matter what I think.

Bowl or no bowl, Vince Marrow is getting the job done. Marrow is our Recruiting Coordinator, not the bowl coordinator. Mark Stoops, DJ Eliot, and now Eddie Gran are responsible for player development. It is ridiculous to suggest Kentucky's recruiting has been smoke and mirrors because of our record against an SEC schedule. That's 1 of the nuttiest things I have seen here.

I thought that unless you eventually started winning, that it would be hard to justify that you actually had been recruiting well. But, if that is nutty & ridiculous, so be it.

I personally think that Marrow is doing an outstanding job & if any UK coach deserves praise, it's him. But, they just signed recruiting class #4 & there should be some positive results on the field soon. If not this fall, certainly the next. But, it is time to start seeing some results. That is the point.

But, I am not the AD, so it really doesn't matter what I think.

I am glad that Vince Marrow is one of our coaches; and especially glad that he is the recruiting coordinator. During national signing day he commented that he expected to see some good results from next year's team. - I believe he will be right. Go Cats!!

As do I. 4 solid recruiting classes in row should yield some on the field results. Marrow really believes in this years team, so why shouldn't we? Furthermore, Brooks went 8-5, in year 4, coming off of probation. It's time to see a bowl. The next 2 years will tell the tale.

Marrow should've easily been a top 25 recruiter in 2016 with 14 commits on a top 30 recruiting class at UK.. Instead the recruiter rankings favor the guys that pull a couple of big fish at a program that recruits itself

Agree 100%, easy to recruit for a NC, tough for a team like the one in 14 coming off ZERO SEC wins and two gimmes, losing to two in state teams, one just starting and a city college.

Truth, VM is doing what no other RC has done at UK since the 70s and then we got put on probation. I couldn't believe he wasn't on the 16 list.

IMO he is the one assistant Stoops must keep on staff at all cost. The man is too valuable recruiting in Ohio.
Agreed, keeping him out of Michigan was a huge boost for this program. Most years, we lose a guy like him to a Michigan. Which is why I love this staff, they value loyalty. Marrow also doesn't strike me as a guy who is in a hurry to be a head coach either. Maybe he is one of those guys who are fine being an assistant for a long time. It's not like he's not paid well and doesn't have a ton of responsibility already.

I mean how awesome would it be if we could keep him around for another 5 or 6 years? Probably wishful thinking, but boy one can dream!

Love having him get the attention and respect he deserves. Hate having him get the attention and respect he deserves.
