Does anybody buy that rag these days, paper or online? I had a subscription when I was a kid, 50 years ago. Haven't looked at one in decades and doubt I will again.

About 16 years ago or so I lived next door to my friend. He came over one day and gave me the newest SI swimsuit issue. He didn't want his wife to see it so he gave it to me.

Meanwhile that weekend I went to visit my parents, and as soon as I walked in the door my dad went "Look what your mom bought me!".

Would not. Too much saggy old flesh. Her face looks good because she was once a model and has obviously had a bunch of surgery to keep it tight. There is a reason why most of her body is covered up.

I will say, it's an odd move but probably a smart one. In 2023, no one gives a single thought about something as innocent as a swimsuit issue of a once well-known magazine, unless you put someone on the cover that's completely unexpected.

Your friends wife sounds like a real blast in the sack. He can’t look at girls in swimsuits? Hope she hasn’t heard about porn because they’re definitely not watching any together.

My mom got an SI subscription for me back in the 60s. IIRC, Bill Russell was on the cover of my first issue. I kept the subscription going until ESPN started up and had Sportscenter. I also had The Sporting News for a few years, as well as The Catpaw, which was awaited each week/month like a CARE package for a starving man. 😎
