I think it's a lot simpler than that. The SEC is good at basketball because they have some incredible to very good head coaches. Much more so than any other conference. Pope, Pearl, Oats, Barnes, Cal, Golden, Buzz. Those are all hall of fame or top tier coaches.FOOTBALL is the reason for SEC Basketball's sudden rise
...NIL requires $$$
...Football is the SEC's #1 product (TV $$ + Publicity)
...Adding Texas/Oklahoma throws gas on the fire
...Toss in Weather/Location of Universities in the South
...West Coast has been abandoned
Agree on Coaches.I think it's a lot simpler than that. The SEC is good at basketball because they have some incredible to very good head coaches. Much more so than any other conference. Pope, Pearl, Oats, Barnes, Cal, Golden, Buzz. Those are all hall of fame or top tier coaches.
Contrast that with the ACC, which has only lost their good coaches lately. K, Roy, and Bennett retiring, Buzz Williams moving to A&M, etc.
The Gators have literally played no one. Kentucky will rip them another one in Rupp.
Cats by 20 bigguns.
Tell that to Massey!
Update: 3-5Maybe but we have actually played better on the road against you guys than at home. 3-4 last 7 years on the road while only 1-6 at home. Some of that may have been KY being over confident at home though.
I missed that Bennett retired.I think it's a lot simpler than that. The SEC is good at basketball because they have some incredible to very good head coaches. Much more so than any other conference. Pope, Pearl, Oats, Barnes, Cal, Golden, Buzz. Those are all hall of fame or top tier coaches.
