What is, "I'll take the over" Alex?45-0 good guys.
Speaking of things that are not normal, from the match notes, the numbers at the bottom are also absurd:Princeton has six wrestlers with winning records. Penn State has seven undefeated wrestlers. This is not normal.
Looks like Lock Haven's Alex Reed got one on him at the Princeton Open.Despite four losses, I don’t believe McGowan has given up a takedown this year.
Indeed, and to sharpen some of those points...Speaking of things that are not normal, from the match notes, the numbers at the bottom are also absurd:
PENN STATE’S DUAL SEASON / inside the numbers
(THROUGH FEB. 15, 2026)
* Record: 14-0 // Big Ten: 8-0
* Bout record in duals: 129-11 // Big Ten: 74-6
* Dual Pts for/against: 580-39 // Big Ten: 328-23
* Average points per dual: 41.4 // Big Ten: 41.0
* Margin of victory: +38.6 // Big Ten: +38.1
* Shutouts: 7 // Big Ten: 4
* Penn State in dual meets:
99 of its 129 dual wins are for bonus points
(26-1 by FALL, 43-1 by TF, 28-1 by MD, 2-0 by FF, 30-8 by DEC)
Owns a 112-13 edge in stall warnings forced
Has a 31-4 edge in riding time points earned
Has amassed a 447-40 advantage in takedowns
He's so banged up I watched him not long ago and he had tape on both shoulders. After the match he was holding one of his shoulders to his body and was in obvious pain. But he wrestled the next week. Must be something he's gonna get fixed after the season and he's just gutting it out.Looks like Lock Haven's Alex Reed got one on him at the Princeton Open.
(The new and improved Track By Flo flipped several Princeton Open scores -- Reed did not get 4 takedowns on McGowan while losing 20-5 -- but the score works out if you flip the names.)
Anyway, I was thinking similarly: McGowan is not a pushover. This could be a 1-takedown match, go to OT, or Lilledahl wins in regulation on RT. Possibly. I don't see Lilledahl losing, but this is the least automatic weight.
Those are some crazy numbers! I wish I would have known that Gopsusports lists these numbers instead of researching the summaries for every dual this season only to come up with the same numbers : )Speaking of things that are not normal, from the match notes, the numbers at the bottom are also absurd:

75 minutes from Luke taking the mat until Cole gets his hand raised. 5 matches that won't go 5 minutes each45-0 good guys.
If you’re looking for more volunteer research work I have some ideas. Haha. Sorry about that. For some reason I didn’t think to point out until today.Those are some crazy numbers! I wish I would have known that Gopusports lists these numbers instead of researching the summaries for every dual this season only to come up with the same numbers : )
Probably right, but I’ll take the under, albeit not by much.75 minutes from Luke taking the mat until Cole gets his hand raised. 5 matches that won't go 5 minutes each
Don’t think of it as wasted effort , just think how proficient you have become in researching thingsThose are some crazy numbers! I wish I would have known that Gopsusports lists these numbers instead of researching the summaries for every dual this season only to come up with the same numbers : )
Shoulders have to take a beaten in this sport. By the end of the year it seems like almost all wrestlers are dinged a little. Hope he's okay for post seasonHe's so banged up I watched him not long ago and he had tape on both shoulders. After the match he was holding one of his shoulders to his body and was in obvious pain. But he wrestled the next week. Must be something he's gonna get fixed after the season and he's just gutting it out.
Now consider how much many more riding time points there would be if so many matches did not result in early termination.Indeed, and to sharpen some of those points...
-Consider bullet 2 - that's an average of 13-1, which translates to losing a bout about every match and a half.
-Consider the last two bullets together - an 8-1 advantage in riding time points AND an 11-1 advantage in takedowns (which you might associate with more of a catch-and-release) style.
id love to see some of the starters not wrestling. . hate to. see someone getting injured. in. the last dualLet's all try not to freak out with injury scares when inevitably a few of the guys are given the night off by Cael to prepare for two weeks from now. PLEASE.
Are you a goddam lunatic?45-0 good guys.

I think Cochran goes bc it is senior night... maybe Beckett wrestles also and gives Mitch a break...
wouldnt be surprised to see several starters get a break...
I expect Luke, Blaze, Scooter, Duke and Levi to go.... I will throw Barr in there also
but would not be shocked to see SVN, Mitch, Rocco and Cole sit this one out!
Don’t think that mindset exist where athletes sit because they are worried about injury. In all my years being around sports this is something I don’t recall ever being brought up.id love to see some of the starters not wrestling. . hate to. see someone getting injured. in. the last dual

Yeah should have been more specific in saying wrestlers, think you are right regarding footballNFL coaches think about it every year if their playoff spot is already secured before the end of the regular season …and college players opt out of bowls
I don’t think wrestlers think that way though… hopefully Cael et al remind them not to risk their knees etc like Carter did a couple of years ago!
It's far more prevalent in the NBA.NFL coaches think about it every year if their playoff spot is already secured before the end of the regular season …and college players opt out of bowls

I don't think it's inevitable that any starters sit this one out. Not saying it won't happen, but I have my doubts.Let's all try not to freak out with injury scares when inevitably a few of the guys are given the night off by Cael to prepare for two weeks from now. PLEASE.
As much as I’d like to see Cochran get a Senior Night match, I would rather have Cole keep his momentum going!I don't think it's inevitable that any starters sit this one out. Not saying it won't happen, but I have my doubts.
LeBron cried if they had 2 games in 3 daysIt's far more prevalent in the NBA.
McGowan also had Vince Robinson beat at the 2025 NCAA tourney in a 2nd round match, but somehow gave up a TD in the last couple seconds to lose the bout by a 6-4 score. We all know what Robinson went on to do at that event.Looks like Lock Haven's Alex Reed got one on him at the Princeton Open.

Thinking about “potential” injury activates certain parts of our unconscious mind. Good coaches help their wrestlers to quickly pack such thoughts away. More importantly, they do not implement either tactical or strategic changes that can allow such thoughts to seep into the minds of their wrestlers. Cael is much better than a “good coach”. He might sit a starter because it’s senior night or because of a nagging injury, but, he ain’t gonna guard against “potential injury”.Don’t think that mindset exist where athletes sit because they are worried about injury. In all my years being around sports this is something I don’t recall ever being brought up.
Pretty good guess through 157. 22-0 half way.45-0 good guys.
