Seems we both limp into the game with deficiencies. We are well acquainted with our own.

For UK, they have pretty bad QBs. One has a 54.2 completion percentage and the other 47.2. They are 115th nationally in passing yards. We are 35th nationally in passing yards allowed, so this seems like a distinct advantage for us.

UK is pretty solid against the run, coming in at 55th nationally with 137 ypg allowed. We are, of course, one of the worst nationally in rushing offense with 65 ypg (a number that seems made up). That's a pretty large advantage for UK.

UK is also very solid against the pass, ranking 22nd nationally with 215 ypg allowed. We are decent with pass offense, ranking 44th nationally with 251 ypg. Pretty even matchup there.

UK is good on the ground, putting up 215 ypg, good for 22nd nationally. We are not so good against the run, allowing 182 ypg for 95th nationally.

Overall, I'd say it's a fairly even matchup. They can't pass and we can't run. We can pass pretty well, and they run very well. We both have a major deficiency and a couple strong spots. Unless their QBs have some kind of revelation in this game, their pass game shouldn't be a threat (but we all know how that goes). Conventional wisdom would say we should sell out to stop the run and put them in 2nd/3rd and long situations to force the pass. They run the ball 42 per game, so it's no mystery what their game plan is going to be. They are going to try running it down our throats.

Need to get points early and force them to pass more. Easier said than done.

What concerns me with this is how the weather will factor in. Typically you think in rainy conditions, the running game will be more heavily relied-upon. Precip chances are pretty high for Saturday. And Heaven-help if there's a lightning delay; As we know, the lightning delay only affected us, and not SCSU. ;)

Yeah, don't love that.

We are down 2 starting OL. As bad our OL has been, maybe that's not the worst thing.

UK is not a good football team, period. This game is going to determine who the worst team in the SEC is this year. I think we win fairly easily.

If we lose to UK, there are serious problems in the program, problems a coach in his 5th season shouldn't be having.

I'm sticking with 31-17 gamecocks.

I think we will win too - but not handily. If we lose all hell will break loose.

Stoops is a good defensive coach, but I'm not sure he has the horses this year. He's probably on the way out.
