Matt Fitzpatrick update

Matt is playing in the first European Tour event of the year in South Africa. The only one-and-done in NU history (I think) easily made the cut and is currently sitting in 13th place. Nice start for the kid.

He played the Fall season and left Winter quarter. Not sure I would call him a "dropout" since he was the #1 ranked amateur in the world, had just won the most prestigious amateur golf tournament in the world and was the low amateur at the British Open. Clearly the kid's dream was to play professional golf and he felt that was the right time to pursue it full time. I thought he left too soon for his own golf preparation but clearly I was wrong. The kid has a crazy bright future and I wish him well.

Another solid round on moving day and Matt is in second place. He will play in the final pairing with former Masters Champion Charl Schwartzel. This should be a nice pay day for the kid and a big help for OWGR points and help him solidify his card.

come on, he's a dropout. tiger woods is a dropout too. at least tiger finished 2 years. this kid couldn't hack it at NU and had to bail.

sorry but I dont celebrate dropouts.

but you can. i know how much you embraced failure during carMOLDY basketball tenure.

I really don't know what your problem is. If you don't want to celebrate Matt's success then don't. I explained his decision to leave NU and am simply reporting on his career. He did NOT drop out because he couldn't "hack it at NU." I know this first hand.

Seriously, you need help. I post an update on a former NU golfer and you turn it into an attack fest on me? Are you always this angry? And, yes, I am pretty plugged into the NU golf program.
