In one of his recent interviews (Katz/Goodman) Pope said that he wanted and expected UK to participate in those types of venues in the future, but that he had some scheduling committments and such that he'd have to figure out before we'd be able to. He didn't get into specifics

I wouldn't mind it. The Battle for Atlantis is a good tourney.
Maybe in the future we can get into the Phil Knight event and mend some fences with Nike.

The new tournament in Las Vegas that starts in November, Creighton backed out of the Battle of Atlantis to be in that, so a spot in this year the Atlantis field is open.

I kinda wish we could do an 8 team tourney. Everybody gets 3 games over 3 days. We could possibly have us and 3 other in state schools and 4 others. Play it around Thanksgiving weekend or the week after.
Call it the Bluegrass Invitational.

Would like to see an All-Bluegrass Tournament (Kentucky, Murray, WKU, Louisville) Rotate EKU, Bellarmine, and Morehead

This would also effectively drop Louisville from the schedule and open up another spot IMO

I doubt it. That would need to be a home and home type scenario with them being Big12. Our next 2 seasons are already pretty much set with OOC games:
