^ don't know about Christie reclassifying, but this offer makes sense in particular if Clarke reclassifies.
I like all the guards and forwards we’re offering but if we get some of them i think we might see some transfers. I just feel like AOC is going to want to start at some point in his college career and he’s got a chance this year but it’s no sure thing and then say we get Terrance Clarke to reclassify and we get him and dj steward then i don’t see how he stays. I know you got to work hard and nothings given but as a fan i hate seeing players transfer from the program. But you cant turn down players like Christie, steward, and Clarke. It is what it is i guess.
Christie wouldn't impact O'Connell, who would be gone by the time Christie might show up.
Duke has no incumbent wing starters coming back. O'Connell has every chance to win a starting spot this fall. Nothing is promised. If he "wants" to start, go out and earn it.

Oh i agree. I was just saying if Clarke reclassifies that’d be his senior year. AOC going to have to put some work in and makes some big strides.
Nope. His dad is Max Sr and his mom played at Northwestern. Good kid and he can really shoot it. Needs to add some other tools to his game, but he’s smooth.
If Clarke reclassifies and comes to Duke is there any reason he, Johnson and O'Connell couldn't all start in 2021?
I am pulling for Alex but he needs improve quite a bit . If Clarke reclassifies who will play PF ? Can’t see going small with Roach, Clarke, Alex and Johnson all being starters.
I am however hoping Alex, Baker and Jordan will all get double digit minutes in 2020/21.
Would like to see Duke get 2 more 5 star studs for that class , 2 solid bench players [1 of which might start] and 2 or 3 multi year players who will be happy waiting their turn.

Johnson is listed at 6-8-, 215, about the same size or bigger than Justise Winslow, Brandon Ingram or Jayson Tatum. Duke goes "small" on a pretty regular basis. Given the right roster configuration, it doesn't take a leap of imagination to see Johnson as a Duke 4.
Didn't we also offer A.J. Griffin, same class, same position?

Just don’t see Clarke coming here in 2020 class. We’d have a better shot in 2021. If Christie is serious about reclassifying and coming to Duke, he would be the perfect option at SG that would also help us cutdown on any transfers, but you could also bring in Steward to help down the road.
Regarding the PF and Center positions, think the other 5* comes with Patrick Baldwin reclassifying into the 2020 class. You’ve also got Blanchero who plays PF and is considering reclassifying. Add in Kessler, Williams and Coleman to go with Baldwin and Blanchero and we grab the 3 best guys that suit our system. Would love to see Baldwin, Blanchero and Williams come aboard and use Johnson, Baldwin, and Blanchero in the front court when we go small.
There’s just so many options and possible play outs to these next two years of recruiting. It’ll be fun to watch it play out and see who we get.
Don't see us getting Williams, Kessler, Blanchero and Baldwin, if I understood you correctly. That would mean one of the latter three would be coming off the bench, and that's not happening.

Didn’t get me right. Goal would be to land 3 of those guys since we will be replacing Javin, White, Carey and Hurt and just have Joey Baker coming back. Only condition is one of the three has to be Baldwin or Blanchero.
Yeah i want Williams a lot. Good length and good defense, he’ll get rebounds, he’s good at running the floor, and he won’t really need the ball because he’ll be getting most of his points i assume from getting boards and drop off lay ups and dunks. He’ll do a lot of the dirty stuff.
This. Most likely option at the moment is Banchero. Baldwin’s dad, who is a D1 college coach mind you, is adamant about his kid staying put. He knows the college game and his son. His word is bond right now.
Banchero wants to be in the league and sees an opportunity to jump early with a program that needs a stretch 4. His two highest options are UW and Duke. I’m taking Duke in that scenario.
Also Banchero was teamed up with Jalen Johnson and adored playing with him. Credits Johnson for helping him win MVP at NBPA Top 100 Camp.
