Yes a work in progress.....but at the least he represents an available progress opportunity we haven't had in sometime. I like what i am seeing in Mike Rhoades....do we finally have a long term quality coach?

I think so, I think Shrewsberry stayed if it wasn’t for ND coming open. His wife missed her friends in Indiana, perfect storm.
I think PS hoops will be in good hand, for several years.

Even if Shrew had stayed, it would have been a difficult year this year - 7 of the kids had finished their eligility. The team would have been really young and inexperienced.

Excellent point. We get a fresh start…with experienced players….and size.

Shrew had a season to sell with B1G finals appearance. Incoming recruits, so he would have picked up transfers like Rhoades. So I call it a wash, and I really like Mike. So not crying over the loss Coach Shrews. Just see this season the same in both scenarios

Aire should be a good backup to Wahab this season and hopefully be ready to takeover the starting job next year. He's 6'11" and athletic so there is a lot to work with. He will need to hit the weights tho. If Ace, Jameel, Leo and at least 1 other guy can be avg or better 3 shooters this team can be good. Defense and rebounding should not be an issue.

If defense and rebounding are not an issue, we can be pretty good. It may take a while for this team to jell but I think coach Rhoades has assembled a nice group of players and I’m looking forward to seeing good competitive basketball. Having some big men in a Penn State uniform will make a huge difference. Last year we lived and died by the 3 pointer - not so this year. I look for a much more balanced faster paced offense and an aggressive defense looking for turnovers.
