Great scene I'm proud of:

"Forty-five. Forty-five. Out of which, after supporting your mother, and paying your bills, you're able to keep, say, ten, if you skimp. A child or two comes along, and you won't even be able to save the ten. Now, if this young man of twenty-eight was a common, ordinary yokel, I'd say he was doing fine. But George Bailey is not a common, ordinary yokel. He's an intelligent, smart, ambitious young man — who hates his job –– who hates the Building and Loan almost as much as I do. A young man who's been dying to get out on his own ever since he was born. A young man... the smartest one of the crowd, mind you, a young man who has to sit by and watch his friends go places, because he's trapped. Yes, sir, trapped into frittering his life away playing nursemaid to a lot of garlic-eaters. Do I paint a correct picture, or do I exaggerate?"

I see all of the negative comments on here. Nevertheless, I urge the naysayers and others to take a moment and think of our better selves. The movie isn’t real. Capra knew that. But what we do know is that people affect the lives of other people based on decisions and what is said over the course of a lifetime. Capra’s corny story about a post WWII man and an angel is played every year because it reminds us of the best of ourselves and what we deep down aspire to be — the difference maker in the lives of people we care about.

One of the biggest problems with this and many other old films is that the actors and actresses "over acted". In more modern terms I believe it's called "over emoting". Jimmy Stewart was so phony in many of the scenes.

A bah humbug eve to you all.

I have a DVD of the movie and the back story of how and when it was made. There was a heat wave going on during the filming period when Uncle Billy lost the money to Potter. They bought in shaved ice for the snow. Merry Christmas everyone!

I'm more of a Christmas Story, Home Alone, Christmas Vacation guy. 🤷‍♂️
But I do like a good redemption story, give me any version of A Christmas Carol or the Grinch (Not the Jim Carrey crapfest).
Oh and I love A Peanuts Christmas.
Merry Christmas to all.

With 24 hours of a Christmas Story on as well, George had to go. Now if it was the FBI Story, I might have made an exception.
