McIntosh is a Stud, Demps still hurting the team

BMac is proving to be one of the best guards in the country. Unfortunately Demps shooting is still aweful. The bricks from the free throw line tonight were almost embarrassing. Even worse, the guy doesn't give up the ball on a 3 on 1 break. Lindsay and Ash need more minutes.
Five more wins and Cats are dancing for first time ever !

Not a chance in Hades that we are in the NCAA Tournament with just 5 more wins.

Believe that we will need 7 wins, including BTT, although 6 is possible if we do something crazy like win at Maryland (not outside the realm of possibility...)

Yeah, if this includes BTT, that's means we will likely have lost to 2 terrible teams along the way, as we have 6 games in the remaining sched (Nebby, Minny,.Penn State(2), LOLRutgers, Illnois) vs. teams who will likely be 100+ KenPom or barely inside 100 (Illinois is the highest of those teams at 97 after their unicorn win vs. Purdue).

Demps was best as the sixth man, I wish he could go back to that.

Totally dumb question, but is Bryant good enough to have a shot at the NBA???

If he continues to improve and play very good college ball he has a very outside shot at maybe being a second round pick of undrafted free agent, however I highly doubt he will ever make an NBA roster or be drafted. He is a quintessential great college player that doesn't have a game or body that will translate to the pros. He's not exceptionally quick, big or explosive, he plays a position that has more abundance of talent than any other position on the court at the college level and he lacks a good enough jumpshot for teams to pay much attention to him in an era where 3 point shooting has become paramount in the NBA. Perhaps BMac will prove me wrong, I hope he does, I just don't think he possesses the qualities that NBA teams look for in today's point guards.

Yes. 6-3. Handles. Drives. Will lead the conference in assists.

Greivis Vasquez has turned a similar profile into a decade in the NBA. And Mac can shoot.

Mac also has an energy about him that is unique. The first four minutes of the game, the plan appeared to be "Mac, beat your man and get us a lead." So he did.

Not at all a dumb question.
Hard to project another two years of improvement, but I could see a backup PG spot somewhere. Probably would need to find the right situation, maybe as an undrafted FA or something.

Demps again played alot of minutes last night, but at least we kept the ball in BMac's hands for the most part.

Sadly, we are really limited at the 2 spot. Ash is raw, Lindsey plays way too tentative and is a turnover machine. We are gonna need Demps to step up if we are going to make the tournament.

Yeah I'm with this. Don't wanna count the guy out but my guess would be no. We've seen him be smothered by long athletic defenders (think OSU)...and that's pretty much all he'll see in the NBA. His midrange and outside shooting are good- but he would need to extend his range to be consistently good on NBA 3s- he seems to nearly always shoot from right at the arc, and I think that may be in part cause his technique is a bit more of a push shot that may not work well from further out. Also I think as of now he'd be a liability on D.

So not out of the question, but as of now I think he's likely to end up on the outside and be a good player in a league below the NBA.

Remember: This is part of the Demps cycle. By my estimation, there are one or two games left in the "fans call for his benching" phase.
