Meanwhile, off in a polar-opposite universe, people are excited about The Big 12

Yeah, they are pumped. Clips of BYU winning against current B12 opponents. BYU and OU have played two times (football) and they have a 2-0 record against our Sooners. I’m looking forward to the November 18th game in Provo. BOOMER!!

Consider the two OU teams that lost to BYU (1994 in Gibbs' last game and 2009 against a Sooners team minus Bradford and Gresham).
Wish we had played them after the 1984 season. Instead BYU won the championship vs a 6-loss Michigan team....in a very close game.

With BYU, UCF, Houston and Cincnnati joining the Big 12, I still have to wonder if OU should have stayed had the SEC admission not been such a money grab.
OU might have had more recruiting exposure in Ohio, Florida, the western states and an even stronger presence in the Houston/Beaumont areas.
Time will tell if OU's great legacy can gain traction in Dixie. It's a legacy that Arkansas, Missouri and Texas A&M never had.... so maybe OU can capitalize on the move.

If we had stayed, OU would have continued to have more success in the B12 than it will in the SEC ……at least for the next several years.

I'm good with stepping up playing with the big boys.
I’m all for the SEC because we were never going to win another Natty playing in the B12. Besides I rather play in the best conference no matter the win-loss record.

The Sooners will be fine. I believe they will be in the top tier of programs who take turns making a run for the conference championship each year. You win some, you lose some.

I wonder what kind of shindig OU has planned for midnight June 30 next year? It'll be a top-notch event, whatever they do.

Just watched the clip. Damm, those folks are excited. That's how I feel about us leaving. I'm ready to git on with better days in the SEC!

I agree that the competition will consistently be much harder. These type of moves wouldn't be possible without the portal. Not with the same results. That being said, I have confidence that OU will be on top of the conference. That's what makes OUr team so great. There's only one Oklahoma! Boomer!
