Even Freddie Maggard said the media has held back over their criticism of Stoops until now. UK's recruiting success has been the only thing that has held back the media until now. This years team is the majority of Stoops' recruits. He cant hid behind Joker's recruiting failures any more.
Smashcat and catben make good points here, there is no way to sugarcoat or spin these 2 observations. The second half performance and the 6 win mandate can't be danced around.
The 11th team in the Nation ran 12 plays in the third Qtr against the 4th team in the Nation and not many more in the fourth Qtr. They finished with 60 or so plays to Florida State's 93. At times it happens to really good teamsKentucky ran 14 plays in the second half of their 25 point collapse to Southern Miss. I don't even know how you do that on purpose.

If you could travel back in time to the Stoop's hiring - only to learn that things would be no better in year 4 - how would that make you feel? That we hired the right guy?
Because that's exactly where we stand.
But UK is not a really good team, or even a good team. The 11th team in the Nation ran 12 plays in the third Qtr against the 4th team in the Nation and not many more in the fourth Qtr. They finished with 60 or so plays to Florida State's 93. At times it happens to really good teams
And if a frog had wings it wouldn't bump it's *** when it hopped.
Like your post, except that closing statement.Stoops has shown that he is not the right fit time and time again, and hopefully Barnhart as learned enough to find a suitable replacement.A loss to USM in year four of Stoops' tenure is absolutely inexcusable. It's their coach's first year with a new OC, who Stoops deemed to be unfit for the job here. Honestly, I think the media has been more kind to him since the loss than he deserves. But, there are two huge elephants in the room - the absurd buyout, and the fact that the idiot that gave Stoops the absurd buyout would be hiring another coach.... I would rather keep Stoops that have Barnhart flail about trying to hire another coach.
there were better options passed on by AD prior to Stoops. didn't throw in towel quick enough on joke and didn't take advantage of coaches avail below the going rate at the time. he needs to be held accountable. And if a frog had wings it wouldn't bump it's *** when it hopped.
Now, now I'm sure UK will look good against New Mexico State..... Probably
Never went to UF forum and have no intention. Everything I said was proven accurate on the field. UK is not any good at football and I base that on how they perform.Probably just as sure as some of us here are that you will make visits to every opponents forum to talk crap about UK, right? Odds are about the same.
Stoops has shown he can coach moreso than Barnhart has shown he can hire coachesLike your post, except that closing statement.Stoops has shown that he is not the right fit time and time again, and hopefully Barnhart as learned enough to find a suitable replacement.
I'm by no means here to defend Mark Stoops but what you said isn't true. We are better without question better than we were in 2013.If you could travel back in time to the Stoop's hiring - only to learn that things would be no better in year 4 - how would that make you feel? That we hired the right guy?

You really need to chill out. It's just a message board. Reporting you to a mod and ignoring you, jesus it's a freaking message board and you are getting this worked up trying to start crap on the internet with a stranger. Why not go to the UF forum? Guessing you probably won't be visiting the Bama forum either, huh? Just make sure you get to the NMS and Austin Peay forums though.
That's what I don't think a lot of people are comprehending - if Stoops gets canned, it's not going to be an exciting or inspiring coach that Barnhart hires to replace him. He's going to go on the cheap because of the buyout and he's not going to take anyone that has even a shadow on their resume.Stoops has shown he can coach moreso than Barnhart has shown he can hire coaches
as bad as it has been & as bleak as it looks I'd rather Stoops stay our coach than he be fired & the present AD get a chance to hire a FOURTH head football coach at UK
Raising Arizona! And if a frog had wings it wouldn't bump it's *** when it hopped.

For what little tiny bit it's worth, that is exactly how my UK friends and family are reacting....Even Mark Story mentioned yesterday in his column how he's a bit surprised that instead of seeing anger and calls for change/improvement, he's mainly seeing apathy much like what we saw at the end of the Joker experiment.
The sad thing is that most of the media are still handling this with kid gloves. Watch the press conference and there are zero tough questions or attempts at holding Stoops accountable for losing to a team with a decided disadvantage at 95% of the positions on the field (not to mention breaking in a first year head coach and offensive coordinator of their own on the road in the SEC). We were playing against a bunch of undersized, two-star, power 5 rejects, yet oddly enough we still have many fans saying that somehow the problem is recruiting. I guess the Shannon Dawson angle isn't holding much water anymore so we've shifted our blame elsewhere (even though we were playing against a school that hasn't out-recruited us a single time in the history of their program) but I digress.

So your going to compare FSU to S. Miss???
What's going to be interesting is how the Freddie Maggards of the world - who have spent four years bashing Joker and praising Stoops/Marrow -react when the next guy comes in an talks about needing a major talent upgrade,
