Thanks, I knew I could find the appropriate wisdom in this board! I just keep watching it murmuring, "THIS is the same guy who could barely get up and down the court last year to foot injuries? Our 3-point specialist just did THAT? What on EARTH?... etc. etc." Glad to know I am OK, though..

I have been watching a lot of game tape lately, and have developed what I believe might be an unhealthy obsession with this clip. Should I seek medical attention?

Medical attention is not required. It is simply a harmless condition known as WhoDat? syndrome. What is suggested, however, is that after each viewing you dash out to your car, sit in the driver’s seat, scream “Nate the Great”, and tap horn.

He has really developed. Wish he had another year.

He definitely is a much better, and larger, player than when he was a freshman. Next year we have Falzon and Rap hopefully fully recovered from their injuries, so we probably won't miss Tap that much. Just wishing for him to go out with a bang this year, topped off by a NCAA appearance.

Taphorn has helped us win a couple of games this year and was a major reason we were in position to win against Notre Dame until that unfortunate inbounds pass. Noticed Law calling two timeouts in a similar inbounds position late in the game vs. Dayton. A learning experience for everyone, I guess. By the way, Tap made a nice grab of the long inbounds pass with :01.5 secs left Saturday night. If he doesn't touch that, it's Dayton ball behind their own basket!

Nate Taphorn is one of the better names in college basketball. It conjures an image of a frontier figure--independent, resourceful, enterprising and square jawed. Maybe he's the one who makes peace with commancheros to open a freight stage through the rugged Hill Country between Austin and SAN Angelo. Or maybe he's the young cowhand who single handedly brings the herd to the rail head in Abilene during a freak early season storm. Or maybe he's just a good basketball player.
