I am posting this for my father....I ask for your prayers for him.

74 years old and he passed this morning in Louisville.

He originally hails from Hazard, Ky and was always very proud of his Eastern KY roots. He was a heckuva QB himself in High School and had a scholarship to play at Morehead, but chose to quit football at that point.

I was baptized into the BBN upon birth with my Dad bringing me to basketball and football games and never missing them on TV. He was excited about this season and even watched last night's game against UGA. He also loved Coach Cal and the basketball team.

RIP Dad, a true BBN member....

I'm so sorry for your loss, brother. :pray:I lost my father in 2011, and I will always remember staying up with him and watching Kentucky play. I remember telling him, that the 2012 basketball team was going to be something special, and he wasn't sure if the One and Done model was going to work. I wish he could have been here to see it. Prayers sent.

Prayers to you and your family. My father passed away 31 years ago when I was only 20 and not a day goes by that I don't miss him. My dad loved Kentucky so much and he would be so excited about the football and basketball teams.

Lost my dad Sept 15 so still fresh on my mind. He was a Harlan boy but he and my mom raised me in Louisville.

Sorry for your loss! I miss calling my dad before games and after... miss that halftime call too.

BBN has lost some amazing long time dedicated fans recently.

Prayers for your family.

Lost mom two weeks before Christmas this past year. She never cared for football, and didn't really know all the points of basketball, but at 84 she was in front of the TV every time the basketball cats were on. Still difficult for me to watch. Hard to lose someone you knew for 58 years.
One step at a time brother. One day at a time. Life continues, and memories are forever.

I hate to hear it, for both of you. Seems like there's less tradition with dads these days, mine lives in La., and my high school son is too busy for his old man. I hate the loss for both of you, as well as the loss of your tradition.

Fortunately I've built one with my son who is now 27.
My son and I use to watch games with my dad when he was growing up.

Hang in there with your son.

Lost my father in 2001, just one month before 9-11. I have some of my best sports moments with my father. If he didn't start taking me to ball games when I was a kid, I don't think that I would become the sports fan than I am today. Sorry for your loss. RIP.

Lost my Mom when I was 8 years old so My dad raised my two sisters and I.

Sorry for your loss - I lost my Dad this year as well. It is tough and will get a "little" better with time - but he will always be with you and he lives as long as anyone who knew him is still breathing.

Here's one for your Dad...........
