The CBS guys barely mentioned our name lol. Under the radar is a good thing this time of year. I think we can make some noise.

Mississippi State gets in with an 8-10 conference record. This is the second year in a row that has happened.

And Pittsburgh gets left out cause nc state won the tournament yet taters get in with a worse record than Pitt.

What do we know about Oregon? Do they look more like a Mississippi State, or more like an Auburn? lol

Oooh that’ll be fun.
BPI 54% chance to win. Cousinard is their leading scorer on the season. Something tells me Meechie will take the matchup personally - "you left us when you could have suited up with us instead."

As mentioned above by @Blues man, I prefer this to a mid major champ.

Thrilled to be 6 seed instead of a 5. Would much rather play a middle of the pack power 5 team than a mid-major champion.
Depends on how you look at it. Oregon won the Pac-12 tournament. So, they are coming in hot and they have talent. Under-achieved for most of the year.

The other 11 seeds were New Mexico, Duquesne, and N.C. State. New Mexico and N.C. State are hot right now. Just as well play Oregon although thought they would be a 8 or 9 seed.

Oregon has been up and down. Caught lightning in a bottle in Pac-12 tournament.
Game can go either way. We play well. We win. We can also beat Creighton if we play well. Optimistically we could face Tennessee in a rubber game. Bottom line is think we can beat anybody in rhe bracket if we play great defense like we have done against the majority of our schedule and shoot the three well. We can also lose to anybody in the bracket if we don't play well. We'll see how it plays out.

I like the fact that we are playing on Thursday. Oregon played 3 games in 3 days, experiencing the emotional high of winning their conference and perhaps playing their way into the tournament. Then, they have to make the cross-country flight to Pittsburgh to try to capture that magic again.

I wish they had played their conference championship game today, instead of yesterday, but I think the compressed schedule favors us, at least more than a Friday game would have.

Is there any reason Cousinard should have an ax to grind or see this as a revenge game? I had checked on the team and don’t recall the circumstances for his departure.

Regardless, I'll usually pick two 5 seeds to go down in round one and that has served me well over the years. By the looks of it I'll be doing that again. Glad I won't be considering us as one of them.
