Meanwhile, Sturgill Simpson's new album is due out on 4/15. The beat goes on as they say. Haggard was a legend, glad I got to see him a couple of times.
Gonna miss the Hag. Will drink one in his memory as soon as I get off work.
The good times are really over for good. RIP, Hag. Loved his talents.

Facebook has been filled with tears, prayers and heart felt eulogies from people who probably didn't even know he was still alive.

Merle Haggard is one of my favorites ever. Saw him several times and hated to hear this.
Believe it or not, the Hag was well liked in the black community (well, my generation and my parents'). George Wallace asked the Hag to endorse him back in the day and Merle told him to touch himself. Then the Hag put "Irma Jackson" out.
